Vinh City launched a campaign to respond to the Month of Action against Drugs
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 1, Vinh City People's Committee organized the launching ceremony to respond to the Month of Action against Drugs and International Day - National Day against Drugs (June 26).
Attending the ceremony were Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police; Dau Vinh Thinh - Vice Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee and representatives of leaders of the Provincial Police's professional departments, Vinh City Police's professional team, along with youth union members in the area.

In the first 6 months of 2018, Vinh City Police discovered, fought and arrested 169 cases of 182 people illegally buying, selling and storing drugs. Eliminated 62 drug retail points. Dismantled and destroyed large drug rings operating between provinces and districts, seized 4.2 kg of heroin; 9.3 kg of methamphetamine, 18,430 methamphetamine pills, 1.2 kg of marijuana, 3 kg of opium. Organized compulsory drug rehabilitation for more than 152 people. However, the situation of criminal activities and drug abuse in the city still has many potential complications.

In addition, after this launching ceremony, Vinh City Police will organize a peak period of propaganda and education on drug prevention with diverse forms and rich content for each target group.
