Vinh City: Funeral and burial of martyrs' remains on Highway 9, Quang Tri

(Baonghean.vn) - The remains of martyr Cao Trong Nam were collected from the Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery, Quang Tri province, and buried at the Vinh City Martyrs' Cemetery.

On the afternoon of April 26, at the Memorial House of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and Martyrs of Nghi Kim Commune (Vinh City), relevant departments and agencies coordinated with the family to solemnly organize the memorial service and burial of the remains of martyr Cao Trong Nam, which were gathered from the Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery, Quang Tri Province, and buried at the Vinh City Martyrs' Cemetery.

Attending the ceremony were the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province, representatives of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Vinh City Military Command; Regiment 764, Vinh Airport Base Battalion.

Martyr Cao Trong Nam, born in 1952, in Quyet Tien village, Nghi Kim commune, Vinh city, enlisted in 1969, unit 271 Regiment - Military Region IV; died in 1972 on the Quang Tri battlefield. Martyr Cao Trong Nam is the son of Mr. Cao Trong De and Mrs. Tran Thi Chau. They had 7 children, 2 of whom were martyr Cao Trong Viet (died in 1968) and martyr Cao Trong Nam.

Mr. Cao Trong De was a revolutionary soldier before the uprising. With the contributions of her husband, children and family in the two resistance wars of the nation, Mrs. Tran Thi Chau was posthumously awarded the title of Vietnamese Heroic Mother by the Party and State in 2015.

At the memorial service, local government leaders, family and local people offered incense to commemorate and remember the great contributions of martyr Cao Trong Nam who sacrificed his youth and blood for the revolutionary cause, for the independence and freedom of the nation, for the happiness of the people. Immediately after the memorial service, the remains of martyr Cao Trong Nam were buried at the Vinh City Martyrs Cemetery.
