Awarding scholarships to 200 poor students who overcome difficulties to study well
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 25, in Vinh City, Nghe An Children's Fund in collaboration with Zhishan Foundation Taiwan (Taiwan) organized the program "Exchange and gift giving" for disadvantaged students with good academic achievements in the 2017-2018 school year.
Representatives of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Yen Thanh and Thanh Chuong districts participated in the program.
A total of 200 scholarships, each worth 2.4 million VND, were awarded to 200 poor secondary school students with academic achievements in 2018 (100 scholarships per district) for the two districts of Yen Thanh and Thanh Chuong.
In addition to scholarships, depending on academic performance, within the framework of the program, students will also receive accompanying gifts.
On this occasion, the Program also sponsored surgery for 45 disadvantaged children in the province with motor disabilities and genital disabilities.

Speaking at the ceremony, a representative of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An sincerely thanked the Sponsor and the Provincial Children's Fund for their attention and funding for the children, and hoped that the Fund would continue to accompany and prioritize funding to encourage the children to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.
Before that, in the morning, the children visited and held a ceremony to report their achievements at Truong Bon Historical Site (My Son Commune, Do Luong) and the Memorial House of General Secretary Le Hong Phong in Hamlet 10, Hung Thong Commune, Hung Nguyen.

It is known that this is the 4th year that the Fund has sponsored scholarships for poor students with good academic achievements in Yen Thanh and Thanh Chuong districts. In total, each year, about 2 billion VND is spent, including scholarships and gifts in kind, to give to disadvantaged students studying from primary to university.
It is expected that in the 2018-2019 school year, the Fund will expand its sponsorship to 200 more scholarships for poor students in Nam Dan, Do Luong and Nghi Loc districts, totaling about 400 scholarships, equivalent to nearly 4 billion VND in sponsorship for poor children in Nghe An each year./.
