Presenting gifts worth more than 300 million VND to poor households in Tuong Duong
(Baonghean.vn) -On November 4, in Huu Khuong and Yen Thang communes (Tuong Duong), Nong Thon Ngay Nay Newspaper coordinated with Nghe An Province Farmers' Association to organize gift giving to poor households and students of Tuong Duong district.

In the morning, the delegation went to Huu Khuong commune to give gifts worth 150 million VND, including 30 local pigs to 30 poor households and some books, pens, and over 200 warm clothes to preschool and primary school students in Huu Khuong commune.

The delegation hopes that the above gifts will help reduce difficulties in people's lives; the locality needs to guide and encourage poor households receiving gifts to preserve and take good care of the breeding animals to contribute to the development of the family economy.

Then, in the afternoon, the delegation went to Yen Thang commune to award 30 scholarships to poor students in Yen Thang; at the same time, they gave 10 computers to teachers and students of Yen Thang Commune Primary School 2 and gave some warm clothes, pens, and notebooks to poor students in the area. The total value of the gifts was over 150 million VND.

It is known that this charity program was launched by Nong Thon Ngay Nay Newspaper and has called on the organization of global friends including a number of businesses and philanthropists at home and abroad to accompany and support. The program has been operating for 10 years and this is the first year the delegation came to give gifts in Nghe An.
Huu Khuong and Yen Thang communes are currently the two most remote and disadvantaged communes of Tuong Duong district, with difficult traffic conditions and a poverty rate of over 81%./.
