(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 11, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho Statue held a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the unit's establishment and receive a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.

Along with the construction of the Square and Uncle Ho Monument, on April 10, 2003, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 1288/QD.UB-TC to establish the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho Monument under the Department of Culture and Information (now the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An) to manage, protect and promote the value of this special project.

After 20 years of construction and development, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho Monument has been performing well its functions and tasks, increasingly affirming its role and position in advising and implementing the preservation, protection and promotion of the value of the project, promoting Ho Chi Minh Cultural Heritage in his homeland.

In 20 years of operation, the unit has welcomed more than 70 million visitors, an average of about 3.5 million people per year. At the same time, it has guided more than 1,000 delegations, of which nearly 500 delegations offered flowers.

The square is a place often chosen to organize major political, social and cultural events of the province, such as the opening of the provincial and national Sen Village Festival, the 990th anniversary of Nghe An's title; the ceremony to receive the Certificate and honor the folk songs, vi, and giam of Nghe Tinh recognized by UNESCO as representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity, the ceremony to honor and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth - 200th anniversary of the death of poetess Ho Xuan Huong - a world cultural celebrity... On average, each year, the unit coordinates to organize 10 - 12 major events at the national and provincial levels; each month, the unit coordinates to organize 5-10 programs at the industry and unit levels.

In order to keep up with the digital transformation requirements, the Management Board has applied digital technology to management and professional work such as displaying 3D images, documentaries, videos, so that the unit's website and fanpage become more and more diverse and attractive.

In recognition of these efforts, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho Monument has received many Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial People's Committee, along with many noble awards.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of its establishment and development, the unit was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister for its "Outstanding achievements in managing, protecting and promoting the value of Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho Monument, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland".

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee also awarded the emulation flag for excellently completing the tasks, leading the patriotic emulation movement in 2023 to the unit; The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 4 individuals; The Department of Heritage awarded Certificates of Merit to 6 individuals; The Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An awarded Certificates of Merit to 7 individuals who had many achievements in protecting and promoting the value of the project.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long acknowledged and commended the efforts and achievements of the leadership team and staff of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho Monument through the periods.

Promoting the achievements, he requested the leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports to continue directing the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho Monument to perform well the assigned tasks. Specifically, it is necessary to continue ensuring security, order and safety of the Uncle Ho Monument and Ho Chi Minh Square.

Second, it is necessary to promote the quality and effectiveness of professional and technical activities of the unit, ensuring timely and in-depth implementation of assigned tasks.
