(Baonghean.vn) -In order to further improve the education of discipline, manners, and awareness of traffic law compliance for students, contributing to reducing traffic congestion in front of school gates or on roads near schools during rush hours, Thai Hoa town (Nghe An) has just implemented the model of "a school without crime and social evils, students complying with traffic culture".

We arrived at Hoa Hieu 2 Secondary School, Thai Hoa town right at the time the school was organizing an extracurricular activity on traffic safety for students. Here, many students were propagandized and disseminated some knowledge about road traffic safety laws, learned about some types of traffic signs, learned about the current traffic safety situation in the country, in the province as well as in the area. The students also interacted through the question and answer sessions related to traffic safety.

Phan Quynh Nga, an 8th grade student at Hoa Hieu 2 Secondary School, said: “Thanks to extracurricular activities on traffic safety and teachers who are regularly present at the school gate to remind us, we are always aware that obeying traffic safety laws is our responsibility, obligation, and also to ensure our own safety.”

Organize students to sign a commitment to strictly comply with the provisions of the law.

Recently, in order to further improve the education of discipline, manners, and awareness of compliance with the Traffic Law for students, contributing to reducing traffic congestion in front of the school gate or on roads near the school during rush hour, the model "a school without crime and social evils, students complying with traffic culture" was registered as a pilot by the Board of Directors of Hoa Hieu 1 and Hoa Hieu 2 Secondary Schools, Thai Hoa town.

Every week, through flag-raising ceremonies, extracurricular activities, and civic education hours, the school will incorporate the dissemination of the Road Traffic Law so that students are aware and participate in traffic in an orderly manner, avoid crowds, drive on the right side of the road, ensure traffic safety, and minimize the number of accidents; organize students to participate in the "Smart Traffic" contest on the internet, equip crime reporting mailboxes on campus to encourage students to participate in preventing, detecting and reporting crimes and traffic safety violations... At the same time, organize students to sign a commitment to strictly comply with the provisions of the law, not to participate in social evils, be aware of protecting school property; not to drive motorbikes or mopeds under the prescribed age, wear helmets when riding motorbikes, mopeds, electric bicycles; strictly comply with traffic rules.

Ms. Duong Thu Oanh - Principal of Hoa Hieu 2 Secondary School - Thai Hoa Town said: "During the implementation of the model, the school closely coordinated with families, local authorities and the ward police force to regularly maintain propaganda and education, inspection and management, and take measures to handle students who violate traffic laws during and outside school hours, thereby helping students to voluntarily comply with the law more."

In order for this model to be effective and for compliance with traffic safety regulations to become a habit, along with the drastic participation of schools, police forces, and youth unions, it is necessary to have the cooperation of parents and the self-awareness of students. This will help students form their personalities while they are in school.
