(Baonghean.vn) - Wanted by the police, Tu fled abroad to work as a factory worker, but because he was afraid of being infected with the Covid-19 epidemic, he returned to Vietnam to surrender.

On February 19, information from Tuong Duong District Police said that this unit had just received wanted suspect Luong Van Tu (born 1993, residing in Yen Na commune, Tuong Duong district) to surrender after more than 3 years on the run.

According to documents, in 2016, Luong Van Tu and Dang Dan Oanh (born in 1993, residing in Yen Hoa commune, Tuong Duong district) established an illegal drug trading location specializing in retail sales to addicts.

When the Xiangyang District Police raided this drug trafficking ring, Tu and Oanh took advantage of the difficult terrain to quickly escape. In November 2016, Dang Dan Oanh was arrested.

At the end of 2017, Tuong Duong District Police issued a wanted notice for Luong Van Tu for “Illegal drug trafficking”. The police repeatedly organized a search and persuaded Tu’s relatives to convince him to surrender but to no avail.

In early February, Luong Van Tu went to Tuong Duong District Police to surrender. According to his confession, when he learned that the police had issued a wanted notice, Luong Van Tu fled abroad through illegal channels and cut off contact with his family.

While hiding abroad, fearing that he would be infected with the acute respiratory infection caused by the new strain of Corona virus and possibly die in a foreign land, Tu decided to return to Vietnam to surrender and accept punishment by the law.
