Posthumously awarding the Third Class Independence Medal to veteran female revolutionary cadre
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 19, the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Hung Dung Ward (Vinh City) awarded the Third Class Independence Medal of the President to Mrs. Hoang Thi Hien - a revolutionary veteran and person with meritorious services to the country.
Mrs. Hoang Thi Hien was born in 1900 and died in 2004.
Since the 1930s, Ms. Hoang Thi Hien and her husband, Mr. Le Dang Thuong, secretly participated in the Party's predecessor organizations. In 1930, Mr. Le Dang Thuong and his comrades established the first Communist Party cell in Bach Ngoc commune, Anh Son district (old), to direct revolutionary activities in the communes: Ngoc Son, Lam Son, Boi Son, Do Luong district (now).

In early 1931, Mr. Le Dang Thuong was arrested by French secret police, taken to Dien Chau prison, imprisoned, tortured, and beaten until he died. Mr. Le Dang Thuong was recognized as a martyr by the State in 1931.
Her husband died when she was young. Ms. Hoang Thi Hien raised two children, a boy and a girl, alone. She took care of the housework and secretly worked as a liaison, digging secret tunnels to shelter revolutionary cadres right in her own house, until the August Revolution succeeded.
His son, Mr. Le Dang Duong, grew up and participated in secret activities. Mrs. Hoang Thi Hien and her son were recognized by the State as pre-uprising cadres.

Throughout her life, Ms. Hoang Thi Hien devoted herself to the glorious cause and noble ideals of the Party. In recognition of her contributions and sacrifices, the President decided to posthumously award the Third Class Independence Medal to Ms. Hoang Thi Hien.
This is a noble award that the Party and State give to Ms. Hoang Thi Hien, and is also a common honor and pride of her homeland and descendants.
