According to the verdict, at about 1:00 a.m. on December 7, 2015, Ky broke into the 2-story house in village 9, Canh Nau commune, Thach That district of Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Luong Chuan and Nguyen Thi Nam to steal property.
Mr. Chuan and his son, Mr. Nguyen Luong Chinh, after discovering that Ky had been arrested, were stabbed with a knife, causing serious injuries. Mrs. Nam and her other son, Mr. Nguyen Luong Tuan, ran out and were also stabbed many times by the subject. After committing the crime, Ky climbed over the wall and escaped.
After being taken to the emergency room, Mr. Chuan and Mr. Chinh died due to severe injuries. The autopsy results showed that Mr. Chuan suffered three wounds to the head and back. Mr. Chinh suffered one wound to the abdomen.
The property Ky took from the victims' homes was only a white Sony M2 phone and a red Nokia 105 phone.
At the trial, the defendant, who had four previous convictions, gave a clear and detailed account of the events that had occurred. Ky claimed that he had not intended to stab the victims, but had just panicked and stabbed randomly.
In his final words, Ky apologized to the victim's family, asked for leniency and expressed his wish to donate his organs if he received the maximum sentence.
The victim's family did not request compensation.
At the end of the trial, considering the defendant's actions were barbaric and needed to be removed from life, the panel sentenced the defendant to 10 years in prison for "Robbery" and death for "murder", the total penalty being death.
