Self-made fireworks for sale for profit
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 29, the People's Court of Quy Hop district held a first-instance trial of the criminal case against defendant Nguyen Van Cuong (born in 1972), residing in Minh Tam hamlet, Minh Hop commune (Quy Hop) for the crime of "producing prohibited goods".
According to the indictment, in late December 2016, Cuong met and bought 2 kg of firecrackers from an unknown man who worked as a driver to China for 400,000 VND to bring back to make firecrackers to sell for profit.
Also during this time, because he knew Tran Van Khanh, Cuong sold 0.8 kg of firecrackers and 43.5 meters of slow-burning wire that he made himself to Khanh.

With the amount of firecrackers purchased from Cuong, Khanh produced 4 kg of firecrackers himself. From the profits from selling homemade firecrackers, Cuong came up with the idea of producing firecrackers to set off during the 2018 Lunar New Year and sell for profit, so he used the amount of firecrackers purchased to produce 9.5 kg of firecrackers himself.
At 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2018, while Cuong was buying and selling fireworks with Hoang Van Vinh, he was discovered and caught red-handed by Quy Hop Police, who seized 2.65 kg of fireworks and 1 million VND that Vinh intended to use to buy fireworks from Cuong.
At court, based on the evidence and documents examined; based on the results of the debate at the trial, the panel sentenced Nguyen Van Cuong to 15 months in prison with a suspended sentence for the crime of "producing prohibited goods" under Clause 1, Article 190 of the Penal Code.
As for the man who sold fireworks to Cuong, because he did not know his name, age, or specific address, there was not enough evidence to investigate and verify. As for Hoang Van Vinh, considering that the act of buying and selling fireworks was not completed and the quantity was small, the Quy Hop Police Investigation Agency only issued a warning.
Regarding Tran Van Khanh - the subject who bought firecrackers and fuses from Cuong to produce firecrackers, considering that Khanh's actions were not serious enough to warrant criminal prosecution, the Quy Hop District Police Department issued a decision to impose an administrative penalty and handed it over to the local authorities for management and education./.
