Tuong Duong mobilizes local forces to overcome flash flood consequences
Currently, the roads leading to Luong Minh commune of Tuong Duong district are still cut off and impassable due to the buried rocks and soil. The repair work is facing many difficulties.
According to information from Mr. Nguyen Van Hoe, Chief of Office of the People's Council and People's Committee of Tuong Duong district, on the morning of October 1, the district held an urgent meeting to propose solutions. Accordingly, police and military forces were sent to cut landslides and walk into the village to support people in cleaning up; machinery was mobilized to level the areas of soil and rocks that buried the road; and medical forces were sent to treat water sources to serve people's daily life.
“People whose houses were flooded are taking shelter in households that are not flooded. The biggest difficulty now is the seriously polluted water source, people lack water for daily use. In addition, the road from Xa Luong to Bao Thang (Ky Son) has also been eroded and cannot be opened. Two electric poles are at risk of collapsing due to erosion, if not repaired promptly, the entire route could be cut off,” said Mr. Hoe.
Currently, the risk of landslides is very high and complicated, so Tuong Duong district has closed roads and does not allow people to travel through landslide areas.
