Gold-plated Buddha statue, weighing 2 tons at Pho Mon pagoda, Vinh city
(Baonghean.vn) - The 2-ton bronze statue of Amitabha Buddha, gilded with gold, has been placed at Pho Mon Pagoda, Nghi Lien Commune (Vinh City).
On the night of July 20, Pho Mon Pagoda solemnly held a ceremony to enshrine the statue of Amitabha Buddha.
The statue consists of two parts: the body of the statue and the pedestal carved with the image of Amitabha Buddha sitting on a lotus throne, 2.6m high, weighing 2 tons, cast in bronze and gilded.

In a solemn atmosphere, monks and Buddhists performed the blessing ceremony and installed the Buddha statue. The Amitabha Buddha statue was placed on the altar in the main hall of Pho Mon Pagoda, right to the left of the Shakyamuni Buddha statue.
Pho Mon Pagoda was built in the late 18th century, over time, only the yard remains. In 2010, the Provincial People's Committee approved the restoration of the pagoda, then the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province appointed Venerable Thich Quang Bao as abbot.

Over the years, Pho Mon Pagoda has continuously built and renovated its worship facilities to meet the living and practicing needs of monks, nuns, and Buddhists. In 2019, the pagoda organized the laying of the foundation stone for the main hall and a number of other important works.
