Cua Lo Town: Nearly 70% of rooms are booked by tourists during the holiday season
(Baonghean.vn) - Although the Cua Lo tourism festival was not held to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, many people and tourists still chose Cua Lo as a destination during this year's holiday.
Information from the Town People's CommitteeCua Losaid that currently nearly 70% of the town's rooms have been contacted by tourists to book rooms for this year's holiday.
Besides the majority of domestic tourists, there are also many tourists from the northern provinces, especially from Hanoi, returning to Cua Lo for the holidays.
Mr. Hoang Van Phuc - Vice Chairman of Cua Lo Town People's Committee said: "Before April 20, 2021, the rooms in Cua Lo Town were basically fully booked, however, due to the epidemic situation,Covid - 19complicated developments in neighboring countries, combined with the fact that Cua Lo town does not organize a tourism festival like previous years, the number of guests booking rooms has decreased somewhat, currently only about 70% of the rooms have been booked by tourists, concentrated in hotels and motels outside, located near the sea...".
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, owner of a hotel in Cua Lo Town, said: "This year's tourist season, our hotel has invested in and upgraded rooms and equipment. However, due to the impact of the epidemic, the number of rooms booked until April 29 only accounted for about 2/3 of the total number of rooms. However, we still increased our staff and focused on Covid prevention measures to fully serve tourists.safeduring this holiday season".

Faced with the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, hotels and restaurants in Cua Lo Town have focused on strictly implementing epidemic prevention measures. Mr. Trung, the owner of a motel on Sao Nam Street, Cua Lo Town, said: "We have directed the staff to regularly clean and disinfect rooms, require visitors to wear masks, wash their hands with sanitizer before and after entering and leaving the motel, and refuse service to anyone who does not comply. However, most residents and visitors have a very good awareness of epidemic prevention."
According to a survey by PV, due to the impact of the epidemic, room rates in Cua Lo town have become somewhat "softer" than in previous years. At high-end hotels, prices range from 600,000 - 1 million VND/day and night. Mid-range hotels and motels range from 200,000 - 600,000 VND/day and night.
It is known that in 2021, Cua Lo Town has newly built and expanded many accommodation facilities with about 304 hotels and motels with about 14,000 rooms, serving about 30,000 guests staying/day and night.

In 2021, Cua Lo Town aims to welcome more than 3 million visitors, including more than 1.6 million overnight visitors, an increase of 42.5% compared to 2020; tourism revenue reaches 3,360 billion VND, an increase of 47.7% compared to 2020. However, in the face of the Covid-19 outbreak, achieving these targets will be very difficult in the coming time.
