Thai Hoa town has its first outbreak of African swine fever
(Baonghean.vn) - On September 23, the People's Committee of Thai Hoa town directed the destruction of 10 pigs positive for African swine fever of a family in the area.
Previously, on the afternoon of September 19, the household of soldier Dang Dinh Tuan, who raises livestock for Battalion 2, under the HO6 Armored Brigade (located in Thai Hoa town), sent a notice to the Thai Hoa town veterinary station about two pigs that died of unknown causes.
Immediately afterwards, the town veterinary staff arrived and took samples for testing. On September 22, the test results showed that Mr. Tuan’s pigs tested positive for African swine fever.

On the morning of September 23, the Thai Hoa People's Committee destroyed a herd of 10 pigs, weighing nearly 500 kg in total, belonging to soldier Dang Dinh Tuan's household according to the correct procedure. At the same time, they sprayed chemicals and lime powder to disinfect and build checkpoints to control and prevent the spread of the disease. This is the first outbreak of African swine fever in Thai Hoa town.
Thus, up to now in Nghe An, only Cua Lo town and Nghia Dan district have not been affected by African swine fever.
