Thai Hoa Town: Training on measles and rubella vaccination campaign
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 18, 2014, the Department of Health coordinated with Thai Hoa Town Medical Center to organize a conference to deploy the measles-rubella vaccination campaign and provide training for health workers in communes, wards, and schools.
The training course was attended by over 50 trainees who are leaders of People's Committees of communes and wards; principals of secondary schools, primary schools, and kindergartens; heads of health stations and specialized vaccination officers of communes and wards in the area.

At the conference, delegates were introduced to measles, rubella, complications and ways to prevent and treat the disease. The whole town has nearly 17,000 children from 1 to 14 years old - the subjects to be vaccinated against measles - rubella. According to the plan, the vaccination campaign will be deployed in mid-October 2014 and divided into 3 phases. Before organizing the vaccination, professional training will be provided to medical staff on vaccination safety such as: vaccination practice skills, vaccine preservation, shock prevention, and post-vaccination reaction monitoring.
Thai Hoa Town Health Center coordinates with the Department of Education and Training to direct commune and ward health stations to coordinate with local schools and residential areas to conduct investigations and screenings to avoid missing subjects; ensure vaccines, supplies, equipment, and human resources for the campaign; survey and establish mobile vaccination points in accordance with regulations. The entire town strives to have over 95% of children from 1 to 14 years old vaccinated against measles and rubella.
