Thai Hoa Town summarizes national defense and security work in 2014

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 12, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Thai Hoa town held a conference to review national defense and security work in 2014 and deploy directions and tasks for 2015.

In 2014, the police and military forces coordinated well in forecasting and grasping the situation, proactively advising the Party Committee and the government to strengthen leadership and direction for national defense and security tasks, linking the task of socio-economic development with strengthening national defense and security, consolidating the national defense posture with a solid people's security posture. At the same time, effectively implementing major plans and projects to ensure security and order in the area, internal security, economic security, information... Safeguarding key targets and projects, and effectively resolving many incidents arising from the grassroots, preventing sudden and unexpected situations from occurring or forming complex security and order hotspots.

Currently, the whole town has 29 militia units with a total of 1,002 comrades and 2,000 militia of age; 2,700 reserve comrades, of which 1,006 comrades are assigned to 5 receiving units; 107 police officers, 39 residential groups. During the year, training was organized for 332 military and grassroots police officers. In 2014, 60 comrades were drafted, achieving 100% of the assigned target; the military examination and recruitment work was done well, and 411 young men aged 17 were recruited and managed; 365 young men were ready to join the army.

In 2014, the Town Police launched many high-profile campaigns to attack and sweep away criminals, arrest and persuade 5 wanted criminals to surrender; establish and crack down on 8 criminal, economic, drug and social evil cases; investigate and clarify 43/47 criminal cases, reaching 91.5%, seizing exhibits and cash with a total value of nearly 800 million VND.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and evaluating the situation and results of national defense and security work in 2014, and at the same time pointed out the difficulties, obstacles and limitations in national defense and security work, thereby discussing and proposing many positive solutions to remove and resolve outstanding issues, overcome limitations and shortcomings, build a strong and clean force, and excellently complete assigned tasks.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Town People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 20 collectives and 23 individuals with outstanding achievements in performing national defense and security tasks in 2014.
