The dream of becoming a doctor of a male student from the rice fields
(Baonghean.vn) - In the 2018 National High School Exam, Nguyen Van Tuan, a 12th grader at Yen Thanh 2 High School, was the candidate with the highest B group score in the district and ranked second in the province. This male student's dream is to become a doctor to save people.
Since the exam results were known, Tuan's house in Hamlet 6, Trung Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh) has been filled with laughter. Mr. Nguyen Van Thuyen - Tuan's father, who usually goes to work as a construction worker dozens of kilometers away from home, has also stayed home to celebrate with his son.
Tuan said that in the recent National High School Exam, he “felt a little regretful” when taking the Math test, so his Math score - his favorite subject - was not as high as he had expected. However, with a score of 27.1 (Math: 8.6, Chemistry: 9.25, Biology: 9.25), Tuan became the candidate with the highest score in block B in Yen Thanh and ranked 2nd in the whole province.

It is known that since grade 10, Tuan has cherished the idea of studying block A to take the entrance exam to technical schools. It was not until the second semester of grade 12 that his father had a traffic accident and had to stay in the hospital for a long time. Feeling sorry for his father and wanting to do something to make up for his father's pain, Tuan came up with the idea of switching to block B and wanted to become a doctor to treat and save people.
Although he changed his exam block late, because Tuan studied solidly and evenly in all subjects, his Biology result was not inferior to the other two subjects.
Tuan was an excellent student from grade 1 to grade 9. In the provincial exam for gifted students in grade 11, Tuan ranked fourth in the province in Math. In 7 university entrance exams in Yen Thanh, Tuan got the highest score.

According to Tuan, in the National High School Exam, each test has parts from easy to difficult. Some good students, due to subjectivity, lost points on easy questions, so it is necessary to pay attention to and grasp basic knowledge.
For a cheerful and smiling male student, in addition to focusing on studying in class, Tuan considers the internet an essential information channel to improve his knowledge, especially promoting his spirit of self-study.
“I think teachers at school are just the ones who open the key to knowledge, and students need to promote the spirit of self-study. Self-awareness and diligence in studying are important factors to achieve high results,” Tuan shared.
Being the eldest child in a farming family of three siblings, his parents often work far away, so in addition to studying, Tuan often has to "take care" of housework such as cooking, washing dishes, taking care of younger siblings... to help his mother. For Tuan, studying late at night, until 1-2am is normal.

Mr. Thuyen shared: “On the day of the exam, I only encouraged him to do his best, without too much pressure. Now that we know the exam score, my whole family is extremely happy. Hopefully he will be admitted to Hanoi Medical University as he registered. Although he has to study at this school for a longer time than other schools, and our family is not very well off, my wife and I are still determined to support him to pursue this school to the end.”
Not only is he a good student and hard worker, Tuan is also an enthusiastic union officer. During all 3 years of high school, Tuan was an exemplary union secretary and actively participated in the school's Youth Union Executive Committee.
Speaking about Tuan, Mr. Dang Huu Dat - homeroom teacher of grade 12 A1 said: "Tuan is an intelligent, hard-working student, good at natural science subjects. Over the years, Tuan has been an active union officer, always taking the lead in the union movement of the class as well as the school."
