The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee receives rice donations for people in difficult circumstances.
(Baonghean.vn) - Along with calling on organizations, units and individuals to support the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee called on charitable organizations and individuals to donate food support to people in difficult circumstances, especially those in urban areas.
On the afternoon of April 17, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee held a ceremony to receive rice donations for people in difficult circumstances due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic.

At the ceremony, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee received 25 tons of rice from Mr. Truong Van Hien - General Director of Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Corporation worth 400 million VND.
It is known that, responding to the call of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, officers and employees of the Agricultural Materials Corporation donated 300 million VND to the province's epidemic prevention fund; donated 500 kg of rice worth 8 million VND to the epidemic prevention fund of Dong Vinh ward (Vinh city); exempted 2 months of rent for all households renting stalls of the Corporation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Vo Thi Minh Sinh said that due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, many urban residents are unemployed, their immediate need is food.
Therefore, in parallel with calling on organizations, units and individuals to support the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic, the Fatherland Front calls on charitable organizations and individuals to donate food support to people in difficult circumstances.
In the immediate future, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee will prioritize the allocation of this amount of rice to wards and communes of Vinh city so that localities can distribute it to families in difficult circumstances and without income due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic.

At the same time, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee requested localities to call for support from organizations, units, businesses and kind-hearted individuals to donate food, especially rice, to people in difficult circumstances in the locality.
"Such rice gifts are very necessary for families in difficult circumstances at this time. In addition to material values, this action also has practical meaning towards the community, the spirit of mutual love and affection of the Vietnamese people; demonstrating the care and sharing of authorities at all levels and localities to take care of people in difficulty during the Covid-19 epidemic" - Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Vo Thi Minh Sinh emphasized.

Also this afternoon, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee received 15 tons of rice donated by Nghe An Radio and Television Station and its partners; 50 million VND from Viet Nhan Nghe An Joint Stock Company; and the Ban Mong Hydropower Project Management Board donated 10 million VND for Covid-19 prevention and control.

After 20 days of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee calling on the entire population to participate in supporting and preventing the Covid-19 epidemic, as of the afternoon of April 17, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Fatherland Front Committees of districts, cities and towns in the province have received and registered to support more than 67.6 billion VND in cash and in kind from organizations, units and individuals to support the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.
