The National Assembly Standing Committee supervises in Quy Hop district

Quy Hop district has 3 ethnic groups, of which more than 53% are ethnic minorities. In recent years, through support from the Government's Program 135, the district has actively integrated programs and policies to achieve the goal of reducing the poverty rate by about 2-4% each year.

In the period 2012-2018, the whole district mobilized more than 366 billion VND of resources to implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. 100% of communes have asphalted or concreted roads to the commune center according to technical standards; 5 communes meet new rural standards. The poverty rate in the whole district is nearly 14%.

Representatives of the People's Committee of Quy Hop district proposed to the delegation a number of contents such as: increasing time, supporting investment resources through the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for the period 2020-2025; gradually reducing direct support to limit the mentality of waiting and relying on the State's poverty reduction policy, helping people proactively find ways to escape poverty...

At the working session, Comrade Nguyen Thuy Anh - Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Committee on Social Affairs praised the results achieved by the Party Committee, government and people of the mountainous district of Quy Hop in sustainable poverty reduction in the period 2012-2018.

At the same time, it is recommended that the district Party Committee and government should direct more consistently and drastically poverty reduction policies; focus on developing production, promoting labor export, effectively coordinating and integrating programs and projects, avoiding overlap and mobilizing all resources among the people to achieve the goal of sustainable poverty reduction.

The district needs to have a plan to support the poor and near-poor in terms of land, seeds, and techniques, especially in the field of agricultural and forestry processing; regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the poverty reduction program to propose adjustments to suit the reality. Based on the content of this monitoring, the delegation will propose the district's recommendations to the National Assembly.
