On the afternoon of June 10, the Organizing Committee of the Youth - Children's Football Tournament of Nghe An Newspaper Cup held a press conference to promote the tournament.

DThe press conference was attended by Mr. Tran Duy Ngoan - Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association of Nghe An province; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An; Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh - General Director of Song Lam Nghe An Football Joint Stock Company; representatives of sponsors; heads of delegations, coaches of 32 football teams participating in the tournament; and reporters from Nghe An press agencies and central newspapers stationed in the area.

Traditional playground, talent launch pad

The Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament was established in 1996 and has become an annual traditional tournament of Nghe An province. This is also one of the oldest youth football tournaments in Vietnam. The tournament is organized by Nghe An Newspaper, the Department of Culture and Sports and Song Lam Joint Stock Company.

Over the past 22 years, the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament has had a strong influence and received special attention from provincial leaders, all levels, sectors, districts, parents and children. The tournament has created a healthy and useful playground for children in the summer, contributing to promoting the socialization of physical education and sports in the province, the development of Nghe An football and the whole country.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, comrade Tran Van Hung - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee spoke and highly appreciated the success of the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament over 22 seasons: Hundreds of players from the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament were selected by Song Lam Nghe An Football Club and youth football training centers across the country; hundreds of other players who grew up from the Nghe An Newspaper Cup have been playing for professional, first-class and second-class football teams in Vietnam.

Among them, many players have grown up and become top stars of Vietnam through the ages such as Van Quyen, Cong Vinh, Duong Hong Son, Van Binh, Trong Hoang, Dinh Dong, Cong Phuong, Nguyen Manh, Minh Duc, Nhu Thuat, Que Ngoc Hai, Dinh Bao, Nguyen Van Hoang, Phan Van Duc, Pham Xuan Manh...

32 teams from 21 districts, cities and towns participated in the tournament.

The 23rd Youth and Children Football Tournament of Nghe An Newspaper Cup 2019 will take place from June 11 to 17, 2019. This year's tournament has 32 participating teams (the largest number ever), including 20 Children's teams, 12 Youth teams, with nearly 400 athletes, from 21 districts, cities and towns in the province. Of which, there are 11 localities participating in both youth and children's age groups, including: Quynh Luu, Quy Hop, Vinh city, Thanh Chuong, Hung Nguyen, Tan Ky, Nghia Dan, Do Luong, Dien Chau, Nam Dan, Yen Thanh.

As planned, the opening ceremony of the tournament will take place at 4:00 p.m. on June 11, 2019 at Vinh City Stadium. The closing ceremony and award ceremony will take place at 4:00 p.m. on June 17 at Vinh City Stadium. The matches will take place at the artificial turf football field of Song Lam Nghe An Football Club.

The matches will apply the current competition rules of the Vietnam Football Federation. The Futsal Law will be applied at the Children's Stadium, and the 7-a-side Football Law will be applied at the Youth Stadium; each team is allowed to register 1 head coach, 1 assistant coach, and 1 caregiver; the participants are athletes of youth age (under 13 years old) and children age (under 11 years old).

This 2019 season, the Youth and Children Championship teams will be awarded Cups, flags, medals, and a bonus of 30 million VND/team; the Second-place teams will be awarded flags, medals, and a bonus of 10 million VND/team; the Third-place teams will be awarded flags, medals, and a bonus of 7 million VND/team; the Style Award-winning teams will be awarded a bonus of 5 million VND/team.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded prizes to players who are good at studying and playing football; the titles of Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, Player with the most goals; the team that won the Style award...

The organizers also supported 10 million VND/team to participate in the tournament.

In addition, this season, participating players will be able to visit and experience the training session of the first team of Song Lam Nghe An Football Club, interact with football stars and watch the match between Song Lam Nghe An and Hoang Anh Gia Lai at Vinh Stadium.

Also at the press conference, the Organizing Committee of the Youth Football Tournament - Nghe An Newspaper Cup held a draw and divided the competition groups./.
