Vietnam announces 33rd case of nCoV infection
A 58-year-old British tourist in Hoi An, arriving in Vietnam on flight VN0054, tested positive for nCoV.
The Ministry of Health announced the information on the afternoon of March 10. The patient is currently residing in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province.
This is the second case announced today. This morning, Vietnam recorded the 32nd case, a Vietnamese.She returned from England on a chartered plane and tested positive for nCoV. She lives in London and had met "patient 17" in England.
Of the 17 newly announced nCoV infections, 15 are related to London - Hanoi flight VN0054.
These people include "patient 17" named Nhung, residing in Hanoi, along with the driver and his aunt; "patient 21" also residing in Hanoi, sitting in business class on the plane.The second group included tourists from England, Ireland, and Mexico. After arriving in Hanoi, the tourists traveled to many provinces and cities including Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Nam.
Authorities have identified hundreds of people who had direct and indirect contact with passengers who tested positive for nCoV from flight VN0054. The Covid-19 Prevention and Control Steering Committee is urgently implementing measures to find, control, and quarantine people who have been in close contact with the patients to prevent the spread.
