Viettel Nghe An: Inauguration of Mobile Broadcasting Station in Huu Khuong Commune

(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of 10 years of participating in the mobile telecommunications market (October 2004 - October 2014), on the evening of October 31, 2014, at Con Phen village, Huu Khuong commune (Tuong Duong district), Viettel Nghe An Branch held the inauguration ceremony of the last BTS broadcasting station in Nghe An to eliminate mobile phone signals. Attending the ceremony were representatives of Viettel Nghe An Branch, Huu Khuong commune and many people in the area.

Huu Khuong Commune is about 60 km from Hoa Binh town, the commune has over 2,400 people living in 7 villages, 80% of which are poor households, the commune has no electricity and the main means of transportation is by river. The installation of the last BTS broadcasting station of Viettel Branch is among more than 8,500 stations in Nghe An, fulfilling Viettel Nghe An's commitment to the leaders of Nghe An province to cover 100% of communes by October 2014. The station started construction in May 2014, overcoming many difficulties, the station was completed and put into broadcasting 10 days ago.

Students in Huu Khuong commune have been able to use cell phone waves to contact their relatives.

Immediately after the BTS Station was put into operation, 400 prepaid mobile subscribers registered for the service. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, a representative of Viettel Branch stated the purpose of establishing the Station; at the same time, he hoped that the assigned management unit would coordinate with the government to preserve and operate the Station's facilities well, meeting the people's increasing communication needs./.
