About Lien Tan village, Bong Khe commune, districtCon CuongToday, seeing the village roads and alleys have been concreted and asphalted cleanly; the houses are built spaciously; the roads are shaded by green trees; on both sides of the road are fresh flower beds... According to the people, in previous years, life was still difficult, but since the village started to build a new countryside, life has changed, becoming more and more prosperous. The person with the most merit in that achievement is the village Party Secretary - Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh.

The female Party Cell Secretary and Head of the Front Committee of Lien Tan village, Nguyen Thi Thanh, shared: Previously, many roads in the village were narrow, making it difficult for people to travel and trade, leading to slow economic and cultural development. Implementing the new rural area to build a more beautiful and prosperous homeland, clearly aware of this, the Party Cell Committee and Party members in the village determined that it was necessary to expand the roads. Expanding the roads would affect the interests of the people. So what needs to be done is to propagate and mobilize people to participate, donate land, and donate working days. This is the responsibility of Party members.

To mobilize the people, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh and the Party members in the Party Cell have always been exemplary in every word and action, taking the lead in all activities to create solidarity in the village and consensus among the people. In propaganda work, in addition to "going to every alley, knocking on every door", Party Cell Secretary Nguyen Thi Thanh has been very "hard-working" in listening to the thoughts, aspirations and legitimate opinions of the people in order to find ways to resolve the problems arising in the village in a reasonable and sympathetic manner. Having the right awareness, the people of Lien Tan village have agreed to contribute money, hundreds of working days, and thousands of square meters of land to widen the roads and build the village cultural house. The roads in the village that were previously only about 2 meters wide have now been widened to 4-6 meters.

“Having worked as a cadre in Pha village for many years, I clearly see that when traffic is not smooth, people face many difficulties in economic development. When there was a policy of building new rural areas, mobilizing people to donate land to expand and asphalt the road to Tung Cong production area, I determined that as a party member, I had to take the lead for the common good and for everyone to follow. I voluntarily donated nearly 200 square meters of land to expand and upgrade the road.”

Following the work of Party Cell Secretary Tang Ngoc Son’s family, dozens of other households in Pha village with land areas where the road passes through volunteered to donate land for road construction. Many households also dismantled their own solid structures. Currently, the road to Tung Cong production area, 3km long and 6m wide, has been completed and put into use, making it more convenient for local people to travel and transport goods.

Mr. Vi Van Dau - Secretary of Yen Khe Commune Party Committee shared: Yen Khe has over 1,500 households with more than 5,000 people. The commune Party Committee has 12 affiliated Party cells, with 400 Party members. During the implementation of the New Rural Development Program, the Commune Party Committee identified the important task of promoting the leading and core role of Party members, promoting the spirit of "Party members setting an example in difficult tasks" thereby arousing the strength of the people, making the people trust and agree to put the Program into practice. Along with the support and contributions of the people, the commune also promoted the mobilization and effective use of support capital sources to implement the new rural construction. Thanks to that, Yen Khe commune is one of the first communes to reach the new rural construction target in Con Cuong district. Currently, the commune is maintaining and improving the criteria.

In recent years, the new rural construction movement has been actively implemented by the Party Committee, the government and the people of Con Cuong district. The movement has developed widely throughout the district and gradually gone into depth. In order to determine a scientific roadmap for new rural construction, suitable to actual conditions, the district has directed the departments, branches and sectors in charge to coordinate with localities to review in detail the level of standardization of each criterion; point out the work content that needs to be completed; thereby building an implementation plan and a plan to mobilize resources in a reasonable and effective manner, ensuring democracy, publicity and transparency.

Along with the extensive propaganda to cadres, party members and people to understand the necessity of building new rural areas, the Party committees at all levels, the government, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations in the district proactively set out tasks and assigned each cadre and party member to be responsible for carrying out specific tasks. In the process of leading the implementation of each criterion for building new rural areas, the Party committees at all levels require each cadre and party member to truly be exemplary and core leaders, especially in difficult tasks such as site clearance, land donation for road construction, mobilization of contributions, etc.; cadres and party members are the ones who must clearly demonstrate determination and perseverance in mass mobilization work, clearly explain the content and meaning of the movement, gradually raise people's awareness and responsibility, and limit the mentality of waiting and relying on State resources.

Starting to implement the new rural construction, Con Cuong encountered many difficulties in terms of people's education level, economic life... However, from the example, with the specific actions of cadres and party members, the people in the district were excited, confident and actively responded... With the spirit of solidarity, determination and effort of the entire political system and the consensus and joint efforts of the people, the National Target Program on New Rural Construction of Con Cuong district has achieved many encouraging results. Up to now, the whole district has 3 communes and 23 villages and hamlets meeting the new rural standards".
