Cars with modified headlights will be denied registration

Checking the front lights is a mandatory inspection item.

The leader of the Vietnam Register said that on October 26, this unit issued a document directing motor vehicle inspection units nationwide to properly implement the inspection process of motor vehicles in circulation; resolutely refuse to inspect vehicles with additional electrical equipment, and cases of additional front and rear lights not designed by the manufacturer.

The leaders of the Department of Registration also requested the Department of Motor Vehicle Quality and the Department's Motor Vehicle Testing Center to coordinate and provide information related to the lighting system and signal lights of motor vehicle models when requested by the registration centers.

The reason for the above directive, the Vietnam Register added, on October 22, the National Traffic Safety Committee issued a directive on strengthening the handling of vehicles using high-intensity headlights in violation of regulations. The act of "upgrading" car headlights causes glare for other vehicle drivers, with a high risk of leading to traffic accidents.

Regarding the above issue, recently on social networking forums about cars and motorbikes, there have been many angry opinions about the situation of cars "modified" with additional front lights with high light intensity, causing glare and danger to oncoming vehicles.

According to records, in addition to the "modified" front lights, there are many cases of trucks installing additional headlights on the rear and sides of the vehicle to light up when driving or reversing at night.
