Ms. Thanh choked up as she said that although she knew Mr. Hoan was born mute, she still decided to marry him in 2015. After 3 years, her family was overwhelmed with joy when they learned that she was pregnant with twins. Last July, she gave birth at Tay Bac Nghe An Hospital, when the fetus was only 34 weeks old. Their first son, Ha Tuan Anh, weighed only 1.8 kg, and their second son, Ha Viet Anh, weighed 1.4 kg. Previously, Ms. Thanh had an infection during pregnancy, so when they were born, the two children had symptoms of immature, dark skin, and were transferred to Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital for treatment. After more than 1 month of treatment, Ha Tuan Anh's condition improved somewhat, and he was discharged from the hospital by the doctors; Ha Viet Anh is still undergoing dialysis and treatment for heart valve disease.
When the doctor told them that their two sons had sepsis and leaky heart valves, the couple collapsed. After that, she cried every night for her two little children.

To follow their children for treatment, the couple had to neglect their work, sell all their valuable possessions and borrow money everywhere. Difficulties and deprivation piled up. The debt increased day by day but the children's illness did not improve much.
Discussing the case of Mr. Hoan's family, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ty - President of the Women's Union of Nghia Thang commune said: "Mr. Hoan's family is a poor household in the commune, Mr. Hoan himself is born mute. Since the day his two children got sick, the couple's situation has become even more difficult. The commune government and relatives and neighbors have also cared and supported, but only to a certain extent... His family is currently in great need of the community's cooperation and support so that the children have more hope when fighting the disease."
