On August 3, 2020, through the work of grasping the situation on cyberspace, Nam Dan District Police (Nghe An) discovered on the social networking site Facebook that a personal account "Nguyen Yen Trang" posted an article with the content "I'm so scared. Covid has arrived in Hung Nguyen and Nam Giang. Everyone be careful when going out and remember to wear a mask. If you don't have one, come buy one now while the price is cheap. We always have masks available, just call and we'll have them right away."

Nam Dan District Police quickly investigated and confirmed that the above information was false, causing confusion among the public in the complicated situation of the Covid epidemic. Nam Giang Commune Police, Security Team - Nam Dan District Police conducted verification to determine that the owner of the above personal Facebook account was NTYT (born in 2001), residing in Nam Giang Commune, Nam Dan District and invited Ms. T. to work.

At the meeting, NTYT admitted that posting the article with the above content was for the purpose of attracting likes and increasing interaction to sell products online. Through the meeting, T realized his wrongdoings, actively cooperated with the police, and after about 40 minutes of posting, he proactively deleted the article, pledging not to repeat the offense next time.

Due to the timely detection of false information, the number of people accessing the information on Facebook is not much, only 11 likes and 17 comments. The district police are continuing to consolidate records and documents to handle according to regulations.

There have been dozens of cases of posting and sharing false information about the Covid-19 epidemic detected and punished by Nghe An Police in the past time, however, due to personal purposes, some people still deliberately violate.
