65 households and a boarding school in Nam Can commune (Ky Son) suffered landslides due to floods.
(Baonghean.vn) - Nam Can Commune, Ky Son District, where National Highway 7 passes through, has been reopened to traffic after nearly 4 days of isolation. However, the fear of landslides after floods has greatly affected the lives of local people. According to an initial survey, the entire Nam Can Commune currently has 65 households affected by landslides due to floods.
Outside Ta Ca commune, heavy rain on the night of October 1 caused more than 5,000 cubic meters of soil and rock to slide down, burying almost the entire first floor of the 2-story boarding house of students at Nam Can Commune Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School.
The landslide affected 260 students of Thai, Mong, and Kho Mu ethnic groups in five villages of Nam Can commune, Ky Son district.

The vital traffic route from Muong Xen town to Nam Can International Border Gate has been cleared after nearly 4 days of isolation. Initial statistics show that in addition to the boarding school, Nam Can commune currently has 65 households damaged by landslides, greatly affecting their lives. Especially the route from the commune center to Huoi Poc village is still blocked due to landslides.

Mr. Xong Ba Lau - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Can Commune, Ky Son District, said that the commune has divided into teams to coordinate with the Border Guard Station of Nam Can International Border Gate to go to the villages on foot to direct the recovery work, and at the places with high risk of landslides, people and property will be evacuated to ensure safety./.
