Warm teacher-student relationship in the 10th grade exam in Nghe An
Passing the 10th grade entrance exam is the dream of many students in Nghe An province. For students from mountainous districts, that dream is difficult to come true without teachers.
Crossing mountains to take students to 10th grade exam
For 3 consecutive years, this car has accompanied us to take the 10th grade exam at the provincial boarding school for ethnic minorities - teacher Vi Van Ca - teacher of Yen Tinh Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (Tuong Duong) said so when meeting us at the gate of the provincial boarding school for ethnic minorities. Along with Mr. Ca's car, another teacher's car was also added to take students to the second exam site at the Ethnic Minorities Boarding High School No. 2.
Telling more about this, Mr. Ca said: This year, our school has 7 students who have taken the entrance exam to the provincial boarding school in Vinh. These are all students with good and excellent academic performance and are all very eager to learn. They take the exam, first of all for themselves and their families. But they also represent the school, the village, and the hamlet. One student who passes the entrance exam to the boarding school is the pride of the whole school.

Teachers “escorting” candidates to exams is no longer a strange thing at Yen Tinh Ethnic Boarding Secondary School, a school located in a remote area, more than 50km of mountain road from Hoa Binh town. This year, according to school statistics, the whole school has 40 students participating in the 10th grade entrance exam. In addition to 7 students taking the exam at the provincial boarding school, 33 students took the exam at Tuong Duong 1 High School.
Because the majority of the school's students are from poor or near-poor households, many of whose parents work far away and live with their grandparents, the school has assigned teachers to each household to take the students to the exam, contact them to rent a house, and order meals for them during the days they are away from home. At the exam sites in Vinh city alone, the school has assigned 3 teachers, including 2 vice principals. At the remaining exam sites, which are closer, the school has had to send 10 teachers.

To complete the task, before the exam day, teachers must call each parent to remind them to prepare personal belongings, clothes, books, and pens for their children. The school contacts a car to pick up and drop off students at school. After arriving at the exam site, the teachers take care of everything for the students.
The school has 40 students taking the exam, but the number of students with parents can be counted on the fingers of one hand. We feel so sorry for them that we try to take care of them like our own children.
Teachers themselves, although taking on the task, are under a lot of pressure, especially regarding the safety and health of students. However, we also believe that when teachers accompany and support students, they will be given more confidence to complete the exam in the best way.Teacher Nguyen Sinh Thai - Vice Principal of Yen Tinh Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities - Tuong Duong
One of the biggest motivations for teachers and students of Tuong Duong Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities is the school's high annual passing rate. In recent days, in addition to teaching 2 regular sessions for students at school, teachers have also organized free classes in the evening to tutor candidates.

Student Vy Thi Hong Tham - class 9A, living in Cap Chang village (Yen Tinh commune) said: This is the second time I have been to Vinh and both times I have gone with my teachers. Last time, because I was an excellent student in the district in Mathematics, I was awarded by the school to visit famous historical sites. Currently, I am a bit worried but I will try my best to not disappoint my teachers.
No candidate left behind
Vi Thi Cuong - Nam Xai village, Quang Phong commune is a special candidate at the Que Phong High School exam site. Her house is 42 km from the school, her family situation is difficult, her parents are separated and both work far away. For many years she has lived with her grandparents.

I thought I wouldn't be able to take the 10th grade exam, this female student shared as soon as she stepped foot in the gate of Que Phong High School this afternoon.
Previously, when the Board of Directors of Que Phong High School received information from Cuong's homeroom teacher, the school discussed a plan to go to Quang Phong Secondary School to pick him up for the exam. However, because the distance was too far, more than 42 km, the road was difficult to travel. After that, the school contacted the Rapid Response Team of Que Phong District Police.
Upon receiving the report, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Minh Son - Head of the District Police Department directly dispatched a specialized vehicle to the candidate's house to pick him up. In addition, the team also supported him with free accommodation and food expenses during the exam days in town.

Going back to route 7, at 6:00 p.m. this afternoon, the first 450 free meals were completed by Ky Son High School in time to serve the candidates and their families who came to take the 10th grade entrance exam at Ky Son High School. Previously, according to the school's summary, this year the school had more than 800 candidates registered to take the exam.
About half of these candidates come from remote communes, with extremely difficult family conditions. In addition to having to travel a long distance, candidates and their families also have difficulty finding lodging and accommodation. Meanwhile, living conditions in the lodging areas around the school are also very makeshift and lacking.

In order to help parents feel secure when sending their children to take the exam, the school board has decided to support all accommodation and free meals for parents and students.
Accommodation is the school's new dormitory, which has been in operation for over a year. Meals are partly contributed by teachers and partly by local organizations and businesses.

Sharing more about this, teacher Le Van Tao - Principal of Ky Son High School added: Every student in the mountainous district of Ky Son registering for the 10th grade exam is a great effort and effort. Therefore, although the school's conditions are still difficult, we hope to accompany and share with the students so that they can feel secure when they come to school to take the exam.
I also hope that these small actions will create a beautiful image and from there, the students will love their school, love their teachers and continue to strive to complete 3 years of high school at school. No one wants students to be left behind and no teacher wants students to have to leave school early.
