(Baonghean.vn) - In the 2018 winter crop, Anh Son district organized many vegetable production areas focusing on quality and sustainability, aiming to create specialized fields with high income.

Winter melon is a vegetable grown by many farmers in Cam Son commune on land and land plots. According to farmers, each sao of winter melon yields from 1.5 to 2 tons, after deducting expenses, the income is 10 million VND.
Cam Son Commune has actively encouraged people to convert ineffective land areas to commercial vegetable growing; introduced new vegetable varieties, provided technical guidance on fertilizer use; assigned the Farmers' Association to coordinate in opening 2 training courses in the winter crop on safe vegetable development for more than 300 households, thereby gradually forming a specialized vegetable growing area.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Vice Chairman of Cam Son Commune People's Committee said: "This winter crop, the commune focuses on producing a variety of vegetables in specialized fields with an area of 40 hectares, mainly squash, pumpkin, cucumber, green beans, and cabbage".

This winter crop, Tao Son commune produced over 30 hectares of squash with more than 200 households participating in planting. Concentrated in hamlets 5 and 9. The effectiveness of introducing commercial vegetables into the winter crop in Tao Son in recent times has affirmed the right direction in shifting the local economic structure, and people's income has improved significantly. Currently, the average income per capita of the commune reaches nearly 30 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate has decreased to 3.2%.
According to the production plan, in the 2018 winter crop, Anh Son district planted 305 hectares of various vegetables and beans, mainly in Cam Son, Thach Son, Lang Son, Tuong Son; 55 hectares of squash and pumpkin in Cam Son, Duc Son, Tao Son and 81 hectares of sweet potatoes. Based on the conditions and soil quality, many localities in Anh Son have proactively built safe vegetable areas. The district has also coordinated with departments and localities to regularly open training courses and provide technical advice. Many localities have encouraged businesses to cooperate and sign contracts for production and consumption of agricultural products with farmers.
In addition, the district also encourages localities to plan regions, arrange appropriate seed structures, and prioritize the introduction of new crop varieties with high productivity and economic value into production, in order to diversify crops and increase people's income.
