(Baonghean.vn) – On the afternoon of January 8, at the Nghe An Newspaper Press Center, the regular press conference for December 2015 took place.

Comrades Le Ba Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Ho Quang Thanh - Director of the Department of Information and Communications co-chaired the conference. Also attending the conference were representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches, sectors and press agencies in the province.

In December 2015, press agencies have well implemented the propaganda orientation on outstanding current events - politics, economics, society, and culture such as: The 13th Conference of the Party Central Committee (11th tenure); The 9th National Patriotic Emulation Congress; Conference to study and disseminate the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress, term 2015 - 2020; results of the 10th session, 13th National Assembly; National Assembly deputies meeting voters in localities.

In addition, press agencies also reported on the internal and external activities of provincial leaders, and promoted key events taking place during the month, including the 15th Session of the Provincial People's Council (16th tenure) to assess the socio-economic situation in 2015; and set out goals and solutions for socio-economic development, national defense and security in 2016.

The press has also done a good job of disseminating major national and provincial holidays; contributing to discovering, proposing, building and perfecting socio-economic development policies; introducing and promoting the image and people of Nghe An, the potential for cooperation and investment promotion to localities; discovering many negative and corrupt cases such as the situation of deforestation in the headwaters, violations in economic management, social policy work, etc., contributing to relieving public anger, helping authorities at all levels to take timely measures to combat and handle them.

Regarding propaganda work in January 2016, in addition to focusing on propagating contents under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, following the orientation of the Propaganda Department, press agencies need to propagate the direction and management measures of the Provincial People's Committee, stabilizing the social situation in the last months of the year; continue to propagate agricultural, forestry and fishery production; prevent natural disasters and epidemics on humans, crops and livestock; pay attention to propagating the program "Tet for the poor" in 2016, on traffic safety, restoring order and security in traffic safety corridors, activities to fight and suppress all types of crimes in the last months of the year.

Comrade Tran Minh Ngoc - Deputy Director of the Provincial Radio and Television Station raised issues that need to be supplemented regarding some press work contents in 2016, saying that the press needs to be more proactive in orienting public opinion on sensitive issues occurring in the province.

At the Conference, representatives of press agencies also expressed their opinions on a number of prominent incidents in public opinion recently that the press has reported, suggesting the need to learn from experience and be cautious in handling news articles, in propagating and reporting on sensitive events that have a great impact on the community and the reputation of the province.
