Nghe An Newspaper donates freezers to border checkpoints to prevent Covid-19 in Que Phong
(Baonghean.vn) - On June 18, Nghe An Newspaper and the Provincial Border Guard Command organized the donation of freezers to border posts on duty to prevent and fight the Covid-19 epidemic in Que Phong district.

At Huoi Kho checkpoint in Loc village (Thong Thu Border Guard Station), the delegation visited and encouraged officers and soldiers to overcome difficulties, strive to fulfill assigned tasks, and at the same time presented freezers to Huoi Kho checkpoint.

Carrying out the task of managing, protecting the border and preventing the Covid-19 epidemic, recently, officers and soldiers at Huoi Kho checkpoint have discovered 6 cases including 9 illegal immigrants. Currently, with the support of the Provincial Military Command and related agencies, Huoi Kho checkpoint is determined to complete the assigned tasks.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tien Dung - Head of Thong Thu Border Guard Station said: "Thong Thu Border Guard Station is responsible for managing and protecting the border along a 37km border line. Carrying out the task of preventing and combating the Covid-19 pandemic, the Station has recently received attention and support from all levels and sectors, and has increased its staff and soldiers, while establishing 4 checkpoints at Huoi Kho, milestones 362, 365... to prevent the pandemic and control illegal immigration. The officers and soldiers of Thong Thu Station are determined to complete the assigned tasks."

At Pieng Lang checkpoint, Hanh Dich Border Guard Station, the working delegation visited and encouraged officers and soldiers to complete their assigned tasks, and also presented freezers to Pieng Lang checkpoint.
Lieutenant Colonel Phan Nhat Thanh - Political Commissar of Hanh Dich Border Guard Station said: To effectively manage the 22.5 km border and prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, the Station has established 2 checkpoints, Phien Lang and Long Thang, and at the same time set up 2 mobile checkpoints, so it can promptly respond to the work of managing, protecting the border and preventing and controlling the Covid-19 epidemic.

Nghe An Newspaper has coordinated with units, businesses and individuals including: Vinh Plastic Packaging Joint Stock Company, Trong Hai Law Office and associates, the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Chung from Phuc Thanh commune, Yen Thanh; the family of Mr. Phan Van Tuy from Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen, living in Binh Duong province; the family of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hai, house number 14, Tan Phu 3 street, Vinaconex 9 urban area, Vinh city, to support and sponsor 10 freezers (worth over 60 million VND) to give to 10 border posts that are fighting the epidemic at the border.

This is an activity towards the 96th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2021) of Nghe An Newspaper.
Previously, the Youth Union of Nghe An Newspaper also presented Cao Veu Border Post, Phuc Son Border Post with a portable speaker so that soldiers on duty at the post would have more entertainment.
