The Criminal Police Department of Ha Tinh Police said it had temporarily detained Nguyen Quang Son (born in 1981, residing in Nam Thai commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An) for the act of "Resisting a person on official duty".
Previously, at around 11:00 a.m. on May 23, 2018, Son drove a car with license plate 37V-1007 transporting bricks for hire from Thanh Chuong district (Nghe An) to Son Tay commune (Huong Son district, Ha Tinh).
On the way back, when reaching the Huong Son District Post Office intersection, Son turned right without turning on the turn signal.
At this time, the traffic police patrol team of Huong Son district police discovered the vehicle and signaled it to stop for inspection.
However, Son did not comply and drove away. Seeing this, the patrol force used a motorbike to follow and ask Son to stop.
When asked to stop, Son could not show his driver's license and when he begged for permission, he threatened and cursed. Suddenly, Son got in his car and drove straight towards the two police officers, but fortunately no one was injured.
Son then drove along the Ho Chi Minh trail to Nghe An, but after traveling nearly 2 km, he encountered a traffic police checkpoint in Huong Son. Here, Son continued to drive into the task force, but fortunately, 3 traffic police officers were able to avoid him in time.
After a distance of nearly 100 km, reaching Nam Thai commune, Nam Dan district (Nghe An), Son was controlled by the authorities.
