Arrested 4 subjects using electric shock to catch fish in an destructive manner on Lam River
(Baonghean.vn) - The Con Cuong Town Police Department has just coordinated with Bong Khe Commune Police and Con Cuong District Police to arrest 4 subjects who used electric shock to fish, destroying aquatic life on Lam River.
Receiving information from the people, at about 9:50 a.m. on September 23, on the Lam River passing through the town and Bong Khe commune, 4 subjects appeared using motorboats on the river to catch fish with destructive electric shock devices.
The authorities have forced the subjects to immediately stop the electrocution and hand over the tools. The subjects include: Tran Van Huong (born 1978), Nguyen Van Hanh (born 1988), Cao Tien Lanh (born 1993) and Nguyen Viet Hai (born 1992), all residing in Vinh Hoan village, Bong Khe commune.

Confiscated evidence includes: 2 large batteries, 2 motorboats and 2 electric fishing nets.
The above behavior violated state regulations on protecting aquatic resources and the environment. Electric shock is a form of using electric pulses to catch aquatic products in an destructive manner, causing outrage among the people.
Currently, the authorities are making records and completing documents to handle the subjects according to the law.
