Nguyen Quoc Thoa (31 years old) has just been prosecuted by authorities for resisting a person on official duty.

On June 10, Bac Ninh Provincial Police announced: Yen Phong District Police have issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and temporarily detain Nguyen Quoc Thoa (also known as Theu, 31 years old, in Phu Man village, Cho town, Yen Phong district) for the act ofresisting law enforcement.

According to the investigation agency, at around 8:15 p.m. on June 8, Thoa passed through the Covid-19 epidemic control checkpoint of the Cho town People's Committee on Provincial Road 286, near the Cho market gate, but did not wear a mask.

Although the working group repeatedly reminded and requested compliance with regulations on epidemic prevention, Thoa did not comply and even insulted, opposed, and attacked Nguyen Duc Hien, a student from the Police Academy assigned to the checkpoint.

Immediately afterwards, Nguyen Quoc Thoa was arrested by the authorities.

At the police station, Thoa confessed that Yen Phong district was implementing Directive 16 of the Government, but he still drank alcohol, did not wear a mask, and went out without reason after 8:00 p.m.

Thoa has a previous conviction for intentional injury.

Yen Phong District Police are completing the case file to bring Nguyen Quoc Thoa to strict legal proceedings.
