3-year-old boy dies suspected of being strangled by shirt strap caught in slide gutter

On January 29, the Department of Education and Training of Do Luong district sent a report to the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An about the death of a student at Tan Son Kindergarten.

According to the school report, after finishing their afternoon snack, at around 3:00 p.m. on January 28, the children went to the playground. At the slide area in front of the school, the teacher discovered Dao Van T. (a student in class 3 years old A) with a purple face. The staff and teachers gave him first aid and transferred him to the commune health station for emergency treatment, but he did not survive.

Upon receiving the information, the Department of Education and Training of Do Luong district was present at the school to coordinate with the locality and the school to visit and encourage the family and promptly report to the leaders of the District People's Committee and the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An about the incident.

“According to the initial assessment of the police, the child died due to an accident, suspected to have been caused by his clothes getting caught in the slide,” the report stated.

At the meeting with the police, the school clearly acknowledged its responsibility in managing children at school; the child's family also did not request an autopsy.

Currently, the Do Luong Department of Education and Training is directing the school to stabilize the situation to organize normal teaching and continue to visit and encourage the child's family.

In the coming time, the Department of Education and Training of Do Luong will continue to direct schools and private independent groups and classes in the area to better manage students, care for, nurture and educate children.
