Nghe An Border Guard helps people overcome consequences of floods
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 20, Thong Thu Border Post, Nghe An Border Guard mobilized forces to help people in Muong Phu village, Thong Thu commune, Que Phong district overcome the severe consequences of the recent flood.
During the flood caused by storm No. 3, Thong Thu commune suffered severe damage. Highway 48 running through the commune was flooded and had landslides in many places.

In Muong Phu village alone, 20 households had their houses collapsed, their house foundations eroded, 3 bridges and the bridge on the road to the Muong Phu village community cultural house were flooded and broken; 10 hectares of crops and fish ponds were flooded and swept away; initial damage was estimated at 1.8 billion VND.
In order to help people stabilize their lives, Thong Thu Border Post, Nghe An Border Guard has coordinated with local authorities and forces to assign officers to go directly to villages to survey and count the damage, help people overcome the consequences, increase warnings, information, and propaganda to people in dangerous areas; promptly evacuate and relocate households from high-risk landslide areas to safe places.

Currently, it is still raining continuously, Thong Thu Border Guard Station forces are still helping families dismantle their houses and evacuate households at high risk of landslides to safety.
