(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 24, in Vinh City, a conference was held to connect trade between corporations and businesses distributing goods in Ho Chi Minh City with manufacturers in the provinces of the North Central region, Central Coast, Northern Midlands and Mountains and the Red River Delta.

The conference is part of a series of activities to summarize the Socio-Economic Development Cooperation Program between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of the North Central, Central Coast, Northern Midlands and Mountains and the Red River Delta.

The conference was chaired by comrades: Vo Van Hoan - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Dang Binh - Vice Chairman of Bac Kan Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Duc Vuong - Vice Chairman of Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Manh Hung - Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee; Mai Xuan Liem - Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Truong Huy - Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Hong Linh - Vice Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee.Attending the conference were representatives of departments, branches and sectors of 10 provinces and cities; leaders of corporations, representatives of enterprises, large distribution systems of Ho Chi Minh City and manufacturers of 9 provinces.

MEANINGFUL ACTIVITIES FOR THE GOAL OF DEVELOPING PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION OF GOODS

Speaking at the opening of the conference, comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said that trade promotion activities and connecting goods trading between Ho Chi Minh City and 9 provinces are very meaningful activities.

In recent times, many products of the provinces have reached large distribution systems in Ho Chi Minh City such as: Lotte, AEON, Central Retail, Winincomecer.... Some products have been stably consumed in the market of Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces and cities.

Thereby, it has had a strong impact in promoting consumption and stimulating consumer demand, promoting the flow of goods, enhancing the value of typical products, contributing to economic development, and creating jobs in localities. On the contrary, a number of large corporations have opened branches in the provinces, creating momentum for the development of modern commercial infrastructure.

In the context of the current difficulties in the consumption of goods, connecting trade through the distribution systems with suppliers of goods in 9 provinces and cities in 3 linked regions is very practical and meaningful. This is a great opportunity for businesses to learn, connect, cooperate, and develop together for the purpose of developing production and consumption of goods, contributing to promoting business development and making great contributions to the economy.

As for Nghe An, it is the largest province in the country, with rich terrain, diverse transportation system, very convenient for transporting goods. Nghe An is a province with abundant labor resources, has great potential for developing agriculture, forestry, processing industry, trade and services. Nghe An's products are diverse, ensuring requirements on form, design, quality, and are qualified to circulate in the market.

Nghe An province commits to always support, accompany and direct relevant departments, branches, localities and units to create the most favorable conditions and proactively and actively coordinate so that units can operate effectively with the expectation of bringing the most civilized and convenient commercial environment to local people and contributing to the socio-economic development of Nghe An province.

STRENGTHENING CONNECTIONS, SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENT TOGETHER

At the conference, manufacturers in the Northern and North Central provinces raised many questions about the conditions for goods to be placed on shelves at major distribution systems in Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, they requested that major distribution systems create conditions for local OCOP products to be granted "visas" to enter major supermarkets.

Representatives of major distribution systems in Ho Chi Minh City discussed and shared regulations and requirements on form, design, quality, etc. so that small producers can bring their goods to large supermarkets. At the same time, they committed to creating the most favorable conditions for local OCOP products to enter large supermarkets nationwide.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Vo Van Hoan - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized that the development of Ho Chi Minh City is always closely linked to the socio-economic development of localities across the country, including 9 provinces in the North and North Central regions.

Building an effective supply chain process from farming, harvesting, storage, preliminary processing, processing and production, to consumption is one of the key tasks of Ho Chi Minh City in implementing trade connection activities. Ho Chi Minh City is also interested in activities to promote supply - demand connection, building a supply chain of goods and this is one of the cooperation contents between Ho Chi Minh City and the Northern and North Central provinces.

Discussing the difficulties in the market, the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that businesses must face the difficulties directly, not to be discouraged but to confront them, to make greater efforts on the path to conquering the market, bringing their passion to the hands of consumers. Therefore, the distribution system must convey market signals so that manufacturers can change their thinking, shifting from producing products they have to producing products that the market needs.

In the coming time, comrade Vo Van Hoan suggested that the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City continue to coordinate with localities to promote the program of connecting product supply and demand, especially the localities that are twinned with Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, promoting online connections; proactively grasping consumption trends and market needs to share with localities; promoting connections by topic and market; promoting complete solutions and developing effective supply chains.

Localities also need to have solutions and policies to support businesses, especially businesses with solutions applying science and technology; support businesses to participate in supply-demand connection programs, trade promotion in markets, especially the Ho Chi Minh City market.
