Stop illegal operations of 8 gold mining ships on Hieu River

(Baonghean) -Recently, Working Group No. 2, Nghe An Province Environmental Police Department discovered and handled illegal gold mining activities on Hieu River in the districts of Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Nghia Dan and Thai Hoa Town.

During the recent raid, the Delegation coordinated with local authorities to inspect, detect and confiscate 8 gold dredgers illegally mining alluvial gold on Hieu River with a total value of 3 billion VND, and fined and paid to the state treasury a total of 550 million VND.

The initial raid has contributed to restoring order and discipline in illegal mining activities on Hieu River, which has been highly welcomed by the people and local authorities.

In the coming time, the Delegation will continue to inspect and handle illegal mining activities in Que Phong district.
