Winning many journalism awards

The Nghe An Newspaper Journalists Association currently has 55 members, the association's Secretariat consists of 5 comrades. During the past term, the association has actively followed the direction of the Party Committee and the Editorial Board to propagate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws as well as the local political tasks, and is one of the local Party newspapers with the highest number of printed and electronic publications in the Party newspaper system nationwide.

During the past term, the Association has actively disseminated to reporters and members about the Press Law and regulations on journalistic ethics, actively participated in association activities, and made many contributions to the movement of the Provincial Journalists Association. Since then, members have been aware of providing information in a healthy, transparent, and constructive way.

The Executive Committee of the branch has assigned qualified editors and reporters to conduct training with various contents to improve the quality of news, articles and photos to meet the new requirements of the Convergence Editorial Office. Thanks to that, the quantity and quality of news and articles are increasingly improved, and contributors actively cooperate with the Newspaper in performing their tasks, contributing to the completion of the Newspaper's political tasks.

Every year, the Association does a good job of motivating and encouraging the production of good news and articles to participate in many Central and local press awards, synthesizing and classifying hundreds of press works to enter awards for members and achieving many results. At the Spring Press Festival, the Association always wins high awards for Tet newspaper covers, exhibition booth designs, etc.

During the 2017 - 2020 term, the Association achieved many remarkable achievements: In 2018 and 2019, it achieved the title of Excellent Collective in professional and association work; 13 individuals were commended by the Provincial Journalists Association; 1 individual was commended by the Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association and 1 individual was honored as a National Outstanding Journalist.

Carry out tasks well for members to participate in provincial, central and industry-level journalism competitions. From 2018 to 2020, members of the association won nearly 100 journalism awards at all levels, with an average of 25-32 members winning awards each year. In particular, in 2020, 44 works won awards, many members received Certificates of Merit from the Central and provincial levels...

To meet the requirements of the press in the new situation, in the 2020 - 2023 term, Nghe An Newspaper Journalists Association focuses on strengthening propaganda and education work, improving revolutionary spirit, political - social awareness, and professional ethics for members. Continue to improve professional qualifications and expertise for members, actively participate in professional training courses and Association work.

Focus on improving the operational capacity of the Association, holding regular meetings, promoting cultural and sports activities at the unit and actively participating in activities organized by the Provincial Journalists Association. During the term, 4-6 new members will be admitted.

The Association strives to achieve the title of excellent collective every year; has 10-15 excellent members and members achieving the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level of the Association, 100% of members are recognized as advanced workers. Every year, the Association has at least 5 works participating in the high-quality journalism award.

Strive to have at least 25 works participating in the press award on the topic of Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in the period of 2020 - 2023; have 20% of members have works participating in the press award on the topic of Party building, strive to have works winning national awards; win high prizes at the Nghe An Provincial Press Award and the National Press Award.

At the Congress, members discussed issues such as increasing criticism on regulations on classifying reporters; the role of branches in the process of publishing press works; increasing the opening of professional training courses to improve professional qualifications and skills...

Worthy of being the leaders on the information front

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Tran Duy Ngoan - Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association affirmed that during the past term, the Nghe An Newspaper Journalists Association has made many efforts in effectively applying digital media to build a Converged newsroom, approaching the trend of multimedia communication.

Focus on training professional qualifications, skills, professional ethics and political courage for members. Many works have won central, local and industry journalism awards.

The Chairman of the Nghe An Journalists Association also noted that, in order to successfully complete the tasks for the 2020-2023 term, the Nghe An Newspaper Journalists Association must well implement the press planning policy, promote creativity, ensure the requirements of improving the quality of publications and financial autonomy; members need to maintain professional ethics, set an example in implementing the rules of using social networks...

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper requested members to always be passionate, dedicated to their work, not afraid to commit, stay close to the grassroots and the breath of life to have meaningful works for social life. Constantly learn to have deep knowledge, broad knowledge, become a journalist with courage.

Focus on building a collective spirit to promote the strengths of each member, aiming to improve the content and form of works. The Secretariat of the branch regularly pays attention to the training of human resources for Party journalism, especially the younger generation through training courses and experience sharing, worthy of being leaders on the Party's information and propaganda front line.

At the same time, pay attention to improving the professional qualifications of the team of collaborators, take advantage of the leadership and direction of the Nghe An Journalists Association to build an effective operation plan.

During the Congress, the members elected the Branch Secretariat consisting of 5 comrades, with comrade Ngo Duc Kien holding the position of Branch Secretary and comrade Ha Nguyen Khoa holding the position of Branch Deputy Secretary.
