Officially adding hundreds of quotas to 'cool down' 10th grade enrollment in Vinh city
(Baonghean.vn) - The Department of Education and Training has just completed approving the enrollment plan for the next school year for Vinh city and some neighboring districts. Thereby, the Department has also requested schools to increase enrollment quotas and classes for public schools in the area.
On the morning of April 26, speaking with Nghe An Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Head of Secondary Education Department - Department of Education and Training said that the Department has just completed the approval of the enrollment plan for the 2024 - 2025 school year for 21 districts, cities and towns. In particular, special attention is paid to increasing the number of students.Grade 10throughout the province in the coming school year and has increased quotas and classes for many public high schools.
In the current context, increasing classes and quotas will lead to difficulties for schools, especially in arranging facilities and teaching staff. However, we hope that schools will share and put the interests of students first.
Currently, Vinh city is the locality with the largest number of students in the province with more than 6,000 students, an increase of more than 700 students compared to the previous school year.

Faced with this reality, according to the enrollment plan for the next school year, the education sector is also interested in increasing enrollment quotas and classes. According to the leader of the Secondary Education Department - Nghe An Department of Education and Training, with the plan just approved, this year, 3 high schools in Vinh city, Huynh Thuc Khang High School, Le Viet Thuat High School and Ha Huy Tap High School, each school will add 3 public classes.
Thus, the quota for public schools is 18 classes (45 students per class) and the total quota for schools in the 2024-2025 school year is 810 students. In addition, Huynh Thuc Khang High School will have an additional quota of 5 advanced classes. Ha Huy Tap High School and Le Viet Thuat High School will also have 2 classes in this system.
In addition to schools in Vinh city, some schools near Vinh city will also increase their enrollment quotas. Specifically, Nghi Loc 3 High School will have one more class with 45 enrollment quotas. Nghi Loc 3 High School leaders said: In previous years, the number of Vinh city students who registered for the exam and transferred their wishes to Nghi Loc 3 High School was more than 100 students. Therefore, if the quota is increased, it will increase opportunities for students in this year's exam season.

In Hung Nguyen district, two schools, Pham Hong Thai High School and Le Hong Phong High School, have also increased their quota from 45 to 48 students per class. Pham Hong Thai High School has also added one more class.
Teacher Ho Thi Ha - Principal of Pham Hong Thai High School said: In previous years, our school had 130 - 160 students from Vinh city registering for the exam each year and about 70 - 100 students studying every year. Therefore, this year when the school has increased its quota by more than 60, we hope to reduce some of the pressure on the candidates.
It is known that after approving the enrollment plan, the Department of Education and Training will continue to submit it to the Department of Home Affairs for review, adjustment and re-balancing based on the size of the teaching staff in schools and localities. The final plan will be approved by the Provincial People's Committee and is expected to be issued in June.
However, immediately after the approval of the plan at the Department is completed, public high schools in the area can announce the enrollment quota for the next school year and the schools' enrollment plans.

Early next May, 9th grade students across the province will register for admission online.
Currently, on April 26 and 27, 9th grade students in Vinh city will take a test to evaluate their learning results. This will also be an important basis for final year students to register for 10th grade according to their abilities./.
