Cua Bac Market and Mai Dau Market in Vinh City reopen from today, October 1.

Up to now, Cua Bac market has been assessed by Vinh City as eligible to reopen and officially operates from today, October 1. According to the reporter's records, the market has installed a partition system and arranged a full force at the entrances and exits, however, the number of traders and shoppers on the morning of October 1 is still quite small.

Mr. Ho Viet Thanh - Vice Chairman of Hung Binh Ward People's Committee said: "Cua Bac Market has a total of 203 traders, however, this morning only about 30% of traders opened their shops, the rest have not yet prepared their goods so they have not opened yet. The ward has also widely announced to traders and local people about the market opening so that people can plan their shopping."

Mai Dau Market is a large market in Nghi Phu commune with a total of 175 traders. Due to the appearance of F0 in August 2021, the market had to temporarily close to prevent the epidemic. Up to now, the market has officially reopened since October 1.

Mr. Vo Thanh Nha - Vice Chairman of People's CommitteeNghi Phu communesaid: Mai Dau market is a very special market, only selling meat from slaughterhouses and only operating from late at night to early morning, so the locality has directed forces to be on duty all night to check traders and traders coming to import goods. Besides Mai Dau market, we are currently making a request to reopen Quan Banh market in the area on October 2."

As of October 1, 21 markets in Vinh City have been opened, with 5 markets still under review, and people's food needs have been fully met. All traders entering the market have received at least one dose of vaccine and strictly implemented epidemic prevention measures. As for traders selling seafood at reopened markets, we will check whether they regularly get goods from Cua Lo Town or not to have measures to closely inspect and monitor them.
