Agricultural development is the top front

The total tea area is 4,438.2 hectares, of which the commercial tea area is 3,880 hectares. The area of ​​cassava raw materials is stable from 2,200 hectares to 2,500 hectares, providing raw materials for the cassava starch processing factory. The area of ​​newly planted forests annually reaches over 2,000 hectares;…

Industrial and handicraft production establishments in the area still maintain stable production and business activities and have achieved good growth. The situation of commercial and service business activities in the area is relatively stable.

At the meeting, Thanh Chuong district proposed many contents related to upgrading, repairing, and transport infrastructure; The Provincial People's Committee is interested in urging investors to implement projects: High-tech medicinal essential oil and functional food production complex project; Cau Cau Lake mixed-use tourism and resort project; in case the investor does not implement or is behind schedule, the Provincial People's Committee is requested to revoke the project to attract other investors to survey.

The district also proposed attracting high-tech tea processing factories to the area; providing additional support for 3 communes registering to reach the new rural finish line in 2019, each commune with 1,000 tons of cement, a total of 3,000 tons, to meet the transportation criteria.

Need to deeply process key agricultural products

At the meeting, leaders of the provincial departments and branches responded to Thanh Chuong district's recommendations related to their areas of responsibility, and at the same time suggested some contents for the district.

Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Nghia Hieu emphasized that tea is the strength of the district, so it is necessary to maintain the planning. The Department will pay attention to attracting Thanh Chuong tea processing factory; at the same time, support the planting of large timber forests.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the achievements of Thanh Chuong district, including internal solidarity; boldly rearranging commune-level cadres, determining the direction with the leading front being agriculture, besides taking advantage of terrain, geographical features, agricultural products to initially develop tourism and have an integration mindset.

Although the direction has been determined correctly, the question is: Has Thanh Chuong fully promoted its advantages, internal strength and called for external strength? The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that Thanh Chuong needs to promote its very important advantage and long tradition of people. Thereby, the district can take advantage of the intellectual and intellectual resources of Thanh Chuong's people, to return to contribute both resources and spirit to build the homeland.

Along with that, Thanh Chuong needs to have a strategy to promote its geographical advantages, especially in the context that the province is actively working to implement the Hanoi - Vientiane expressway with a route passing through Thanh Thuy border gate; the land is basically favorable for agricultural and forestry development; the transportation system is relatively complete, especially the total km of asphalt road is the most in the province.

Regarding the immediate tasks, Thanh Chuong needs to focus on drought and flood prevention, especially African swine fever prevention and control in the spirit of not being subjective, negligent, or losing vigilance; focus on reviewing the 2019 growth plan; analyze and dissect expenditures of the term that are likely to not be achieved, especially growth rate, economic structure, and per capita income. Thereby, assigning responsible people and sectors to direct implementation, and also pointing out the reasons to determine the goals for the next term, both ensuring a high spirit of attack but also being correct and close to reality.

In particular, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated Thanh Chuong district for identifying agriculture as the leading front, but currently it is mainly pure processing, so it is necessary to develop deep processing and refined processing to increase product value and area, associated with commodity market factors.

In addition, the district should pay attention to the development of forestry that is suitable to the district's advantages and linked to the strategy of attracting investment in developing the wood processing industry of the province; at the same time, promote the efficiency of land; pay attention to developing tourism into an economic sector.

Thanh Chuong also needs to do better in terms of growth with socio-cultural development, ensuring national defense and security, including border security; planning work, first of all, planning of towns, townships, regions, and the whole; environmental resource management, especially strengthening mineral management.
