Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee: Fight the epidemic with the highest spirit and responsibility

What is even more touching is that amid the complicated developments of the pandemic, people across the country have accompanied Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and organizations at all levels with extremely practical and meaningful actions, spreading the spirit of compatriots in difficult times.

GRATITUDE FOR FELLOW COUNTRYMEN'S SUPPORT

Early in the morning of April 3, the provincial working group went up National Highway 7 to inspect epidemic prevention work and implement Directives 15 and 16 of the Prime Minister. Along the vital national highway connecting Nghe An with Laos, despite the urgent time, localities have urgently set up quarantine areas to receive citizens entering through Nam Can International Border Gate, Ky Son District.

During one day, the working group inspected 5 quarantine points in 4 districts of Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son and Do Luong. Here, more than 1,000 citizens are being quarantined for 14 days according to regulations.

At the inspection destinations, the provincial working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of the province paid great attention to the arrangement of logistics to take care of people, as well as the health and working conditions of officers, soldiers, and medical staff on quarantine duty.

Fortunately, despite the difficulties, with the spirit of "fighting the epidemic like fighting the enemy", local Party committees and authorities have devoted all their efforts to creating the best conditions to carry out the quarantine work well. All people are provided with adequate, neat and clean places to eat and sleep. Medical staff are always on duty and conduct regular health check-ups.

In particular, it is extremely grateful that, in addition to the level of food allowance support according to Resolution No. 37/NQ-CP of the Government on some special regimes in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic for people in quarantine, local people also showed their concern for the quarantined compatriots, and the quarantine officers by contributing and supporting both funds and working days.

Even for people in districts with difficulties such as District 30a Tuong Duong, comrade Phan Duc Son - Chairman of the District People's Committee said that by April 3, individuals and organizations in District 30a had donated more than 250 million VND, not to mention many vegetables, tubers, and fruits brought by people to support the care of quarantined people.

Or in Do Luong district, as of the morning of April 3, the whole district has mobilized more than 1.2 billion VND in support for epidemic prevention and control work, including more than 896 million VND in cash and foods such as rice, vegetables, tubers, fruits, instant noodles, milk...

At the meetings with district leaders, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung expressed his impression and gratitude for the affection and concern of the people for the quarantined people and for the Party Committee, government, and forces directly participating in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.

"People's attention to Covid-19 prevention and control activities in the area is very good," the Chairman of the People's Committee said after directly inspecting and witnessing kitchens in quarantine areas always having teams of volunteers accompanying military officers and soldiers to prepare meals for quarantined people and hearing district leaders report on the numbers of people's support.

ENHANCE SPIRIT AND RESPONSIBILITY TO THE PARTY,

PEOPLE

Currently, the Covid-19 epidemic has new developments, the situation is increasingly complicated and unpredictable. The Prime Minister has continuously issued directives on this issue, including the decision to implement social isolation for 15 days from 0:00 on April 1, 2020 nationwide; at the same time, officially signed the decision to declare the Covid-19 epidemic nationwide.

In recent days, working directly with a number of key sectors in the work of epidemic prevention and control and many localities, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that this is an important stage and requested that units promote the highest sense of responsibility, achieve results, overcome difficulties to perform well the tasks in the peak period of epidemic prevention and control, contributing to the whole country's victory over the Covid-19 epidemic.

In particular, the issue that the Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control repeatedly mentioned is that sectors, levels, and the entire political system must continue to uphold the spirit and responsibility before the Party and the people, and implement more drastic and effective measures to prevent and control the epidemic; adhere to the principles: "Prevention, detection, isolation, localization, epidemic suppression, treatment"; in which Nghe An is effectively implementing the first 3 stages of prevention, detection, and isolation. This is an effective solution to prevent the epidemic from entering the province.

The steering committees of districts, cities and towns need to perform well their role in presiding over the implementation of quarantine work for people returning from abroad and epidemic areas; the military force is the core in organizing and implementing the work; the police force is in charge of supervising, maintaining activities, ensuring security and order; and members of the steering committee, departments and branches according to their functions and tasks to organize the implementation.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also noted that it is necessary to correctly understand and strictly comply with social isolation for 15 days from 0:00 on April 1, 2020 according to the direction in Directive 16 of the Prime Minister.

Accordingly, implementing social isolation does not mean prohibiting people from leaving their homes, but rather promoting and mobilizing people to understand the risks of the epidemic and strictly comply, only going out when absolutely necessary.

And if it is necessary to go out, strictly maintain a minimum distance of 2 meters when communicating; do not gather in groups of more than 2 people outside of offices, schools, hospitals and in public places.

To effectively implement this issue, the head of the Provincial People's Committee especially emphasized the need to promote the responsibility of the heads of commune and district authorities in directing implementation.
