Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh received the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation

Mr. Sergey Ivanov - Chairman of the State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation as Head of the delegation.

Also attending was Mr. Andrey Kovtun - former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Vietnam, Chief Representative of Novatek Group Office in Vietnam.

Nghe An provincial leaders attending the meeting included leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, Provincial People's Committee Office, and Department of Foreign Affairs.

The delegation's visit and work in Nghe An this time aims to connect and promote cooperation between the two sides under the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan; thereby contributing to promoting development between the Russian Federation and Vietnam.

Previously, on the afternoon of March 21 at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received the head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation RN Minnikhanov.

Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Sergey Ivanov - Chairman of the State Committee on Tourism, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation and members of the delegation to visit and work in Nghe An; at the same time, he informed about the socio-economic situation of the province, tourism potential of Nghe An province.

After introducing the socio-economic situation of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mr. Sergey Ivanov highly appreciated the potential for cooperation between the two sides and wished to connect to promote development, first of all in the field of tourism.

“We are very ready to start cooperating with Nghe An on projects to develop tourism,” Mr. Sergey Ivanov affirmed, on that basis proposing to study the opening of charter flights connecting directly between Vinh Airport and Kazan Airport.

Mr. Andrey Kovtun - former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Vietnam, Chief Representative of Novatek Group Office in Vietnam also said that both the Republic of Tatarstan and Nghe An province have great potential for development cooperation.

In particular, he said he had researched and learned that in 2025, Vinh Airport will be renovated and upgraded to be able to accommodate large aircraft, this is a very good opportunity to open direct flights between Vinh and the capital Kazan of the Republic of Tatarstan in the form of charter. Because Nghe An has a climate and beaches suitable for the vacation needs of Russian tourists, the problem now is to organize convenient transportation.

In addition, as Chief Representative of Novatek Group Office in Vietnam, one of the largest independent natural gas producers in the Russian Federation, Mr. Andrey Kovtun said that the Group's leaders are very interested in and carefully studying the LNG thermal power project that is about to be deployed in Quynh Lap commune, Hoang Mai town, Nghe An province and are trying to participate in this important power source project.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh agreed with the proposals to connect and promote cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and Nghe An, starting from the tourism sector to bring tourists from both sides to visit and relax.

This is very convenient when Nghe An has a large number of former international students and workers who studied and worked in the Soviet Union. On the contrary, Russian tourists have more options to relax in Vietnam besides familiar destinations such as: Nha Trang, Phu Quoc...

On that basis, the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee invited the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan and travel businesses to work and conduct surveys to promote cooperation, towards signing an agreement to expand comprehensive cooperation between the two sides.

In particular, Nghe An hopes that businesses in the Republic of Tatarstan's strong fields will come to learn and invest in Nghe An, thereby exporting goods to third countries.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh affirmed: Nghe An has a large number of highly skilled workers, many investment incentives, especially the biggest incentive is the enthusiasm and responsibility of the provincial government in resolving procedures for investors in the fastest way.

Regarding the Quynh Lap LNG thermal power project, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the province is currently promoting the completion of procedures to move towards approving the investment policy and inviting open bidding.

Appreciating the capacity of Novatek Group, especially its proactive use of LNG as raw material, the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Group participate in bidding for this important project.

Comrade Le Hong Vinh hopes that through this visit and working session, Messrs. Sergey Ivanov and Andrey Kovtun will introduce and spread the image of Nghe An in the Republic of Tatarstan in particular and the Russian Federation in general, and at the same time they will continue to be an important bridge to promote the relationship between the two sides, as well as with other entities and partners of the Russian Federation.

At the meeting, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh and Mr. Sergey Ivanov - Chairman of the State Committee on Tourism, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation agreed to exchange delegations of the two sides, first of all in the field of tourism to discuss and move towards specific cooperation contents.
