(Baonghean.vn) - With concentric circles representing youth, the exam question is considered appropriate for graduating students as they prepare to embark on a new chapter in their lives.

Ms. Duong Tham Nga is a teacher with many years of experience teaching Literature at Dang Thai Mai Secondary School in Vinh City. Commenting on the Literature exam, she affirmed: This year's exam was clear, fundamental, focused, yet still differentiated and assessed students' abilities.

The structure of the essay follows a concentric circle: youth, the summer of youth, the aspirations and passions of youth, and the beautiful and responsible purpose of youth towards the country.

The theme's message is about embracing a beautiful way of life and the burning passion of youth as they embark on a new chapter in their lives.

Delving deeper into the question analysis, teacher Duong Tham Nga added:

In the reading comprehension section, the test presented a poem describing the beauty of a summer scene; the text was well-written and clear. This section tested basic knowledge at both the recognition and comprehension levels.

Therefore, students get full marks for questions a and b because they demonstrate basic knowledge.

In question c, students will be able to formulate a rhetorical question after carefully reading the poem and placing the two lines within the emotional context of the poem.

The rhetorical question evokes the poet's deep and poignant emotions about the summer of life and youth.

Question d is an open-ended question, allowing students to freely express their feelings about the summer of their childhood that has passed.

In the social commentary section, the topic is appropriate for the psychology of 9th-grade students. They have the opportunity to express their thoughts and concerns about their own passions, and at the same time, learn to emulate young people who have succeeded thanks to their passions.

The topic presented is relevant to junior high school students as they prepare to embark on a new chapter in their lives. It demands that they wholeheartedly pursue their passions to fully realize their youthful aspirations.

Teacher Duong Tham Nga also believes that, in order to get high scores in the social commentary section, students must focus on analyzing and explaining the necessity of nurturing passion, essentially highlighting the role and significance of passion.

"I want to emphasize focus, because some candidates are doing a mediocre job on many issues without getting to the main point. In addition, they must provide typical examples and demonstrate critical thinking, expressing their concerns and revolving around the issue to give depth to their writing."

In the literary analysis section, the question asks to choose a key excerpt that embodies the central theme of the work "Silent Sapa" and the characteristics of the main character, the young man.

Students of all abilities can establish and develop a system of arguments. However, to achieve high scores and help examiners differentiate students' abilities, students need to be able to selectively analyze evidence, choosing examples from the excerpt to highlight the character's beauty, such as the beauty of their love for their profession, their sense of responsibility, their love of life, and their appreciation for the world.

Secondly, students should be able to evaluate, generalize, and elevate the issue: From the beauty of the young man in the story, they can see the beauty of countless working people in the construction of socialism in North Vietnam.

Teacher Duong Tham Nga also added that this exam was not surprising to either teachers or students. At first glance, it seems long, but in reality, whether it's long or short depends on the students' abilities.

The structure of the question is suitable for a 120-minute exam, and the longer the data in the literary analysis section, the more evidence students will have to support their arguments.

According to a summary from the Department of Education and Training, at the end of the first exam (Literature) of the 2022-2023 high school entrance exam, the entire province had 139 absent candidates and 3 candidates who violated exam regulations. No teachers violated exam regulations. No unusual incidents occurred at the exam sites. The exam proceeded safely and in accordance with regulations.
