The main engineers of Military Region 4 deployed rescue troops in Rao Trang 3 and Huong Hoa.
(Baonghean.vn) - Having just completed the rescue at the Bo River ranger station, the officers and soldiers of the 414th Engineer Brigade had to split their forces into two. One group continued up to Rao Trang 3 Hydropower Plant, the other group went to Huong Hoa, Quang Tri.
On October 18, after completing the search and rescue mission atSub-region 67 area,where 13 officers and soldiers of Military Region 4 and Thua Thien-Hue province were in trouble, the 414th Engineering Brigade (Military Region 4) received orders to split its forces into two groups, one group to search for victims of landslides at Rao Trang 3 Hydropower Plant (Phong Dien district, Thua Thien-Hue province), and one group to rescue atEconomic - Defense Group 337(Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province).

Team 1, commanded by Captain Vuong Dinh Tue - Deputy Commander of Company 10, Battalion 4 (Brigade 414) with 4 engineer soldiers reinforced by the Military Command and the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police, moved along the waterway on the Bo River, approaching Rao Trang 4 Hydropower Plant.
After traveling about 20km by speedboat, at 12:30 on October 18, the entire force of the first unit arrived safely at the Rao Trang 4 Hydropower Plant. They quickly gathered forces, materials, equipment, and food, ready to await orders. After a quick lunch, the group organized a mobile reconnaissance force by boat from Rao Trang 4 to Rao Trang 3. They have now returned to Rao Trang 4 to await orders.

It is expected that after the rescue team has finished clearing the landslide and cleared the road on Highway 71 to Rao Trang 3, the unit will join the rescue team on the road to join the search for the missing workers at Rao Trang 3.
At the second point, from the early morning of October 18, 59 officers and soldiers of the 414th Engineer Brigade, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Mai Van Thanh - Deputy Brigade Commander, Brigade Chief of Staff, received orders from the Military Region to immediately move to Huong Hoa, Quang Tri, to support the rescue force in the serious landslide that occurred at Economic - Defense Group 337 (Military Region 4). By 2:00 p.m. the same day, the unit had marched to Huong Hoa, Quang Tri, but due to heavy rain, the Ho Chi Minh road section to Group 337 was severely eroded, making it impossible to bring forces and vehicles to the site. The unit is temporarily stopping at the Huong Hoa District Military Command, waiting for the road to be cleared for rescue.
