Nghe An Trade Union: Awarding Emulation Flags and Certificates of Merit to 18 collectives with outstanding achievements

To ensure safety against the Covid-19 epidemic, the Conference was held online at 20 locations, chaired by comradeKha Van Tam -Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation. MANY IMPRESSIVE ACHIEVEMENTS

According to Decision No. 2270/QD-TLĐ dated March 18, 2021 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Nghe An Provincial Confederation of Labor was assigned to implement 17 key targets and tasks in 2021. As of May 31, 6 targets were exceeded, 3 targets were completed (100%), 7 targets were being implemented, and 1 target had not been achieved.

Notably, Nghe An Trade Union admitted 4,228 new union members (reaching 120.8%); established 15 enterprise trade unions with over 25 employees (reaching 100%); trained and fostered 1,321 key grassroots trade union officials (reaching 120%); organized 28 labor conferences at state-owned enterprises (reaching 350%); 269 labor conferences at private enterprises (reaching 99.6%)...

Implementing the theme of the year "Improving the quality of grassroots trade union cadres", the Provincial Federation of Labor has issued and deployed many guiding documents and related plans, directing the grassroots trade unions to develop and implement plans for training, fostering and coaching for grassroots trade union cadres. As a result, up to now, 1,321/target of 1,100 key grassroots trade union cadres have been trained and fostered.

In the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, Nghe An trade unions at all levels have actively participated in propaganda work in many forms; guiding trade unions at all levels to direct enterprises and production and business establishments to establish "Covid-19 safety teams", step up inspection and propaganda activities on Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control;emergency assistancefor union members and workers affected by the epidemic during the 4th outbreak; Calling on all union officials, union members, workers and civil servants in the province to join hands and wholeheartedly support each person with at least 1 day's salary to the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Fund launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; Calling on businesses to proactively allocate funds to buy vaccines for workers and laborers at the unit; mobilizing union members and workers to contribute their human and financial resources to the frontline against the epidemic...

The first 6 months of 2021 is also the period when Nghe An Trade Union has many unique marks in coordination work.

Specifically, the Provincial Federation of Labor has advised on organizing the signing conference.Work coordination programbetween the Party Delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee for the period 2021-2025; the working program of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation; Coordination regulations between the People's Committee of Nghe An province and the General Confederation on building trade union institutions in Nghe An province; signing a coordination program in 2021 with the Provincial People's Committee, Radio and Television Station, Women's Union, Provincial Social Insurance, Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of the province...; Signing a coordination program between the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union and the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation; Working with Party committees and Standing Committees of the Labor Federation of many districts and branches; Coordinating in propaganda work with many press agencies in the province...

EFFORTS TO ACHIEVE AND EXCEED 2021 TARGETS

Attending the conference, leaders of grassroots trade union units shared their presentations on the contents related to the establishment of grassroots trade unions; the work of developing union members, establishing Party organizations in non-state enterprises; developing the labor - innovation movement; and implementing the collection of trade union fees;Implementing Workers' Month...

Among them, many opinions share concerns about the difficulties in developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions in non-state enterprises.

To overcome these difficulties, many practical solutions were proposed at the conference for units to learn from each other's experiences. This is also one of the contents that requires coordination from many agencies, organizations, and coordination from all levels of government.

Not only sharing experiences, delegates also pointed out shortcomings and difficulties in trade union activities and made suggestions and opinions to overcome difficulties in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Kha Van Tam acknowledged the proactive and positive spirit in all aspects at all union levels in the first 6 months of the year in general and Workers' Month in particular. Unions at all levels have made new changes in management and leadership; Covid-19 prevention and control work has been strongly implemented in recent times; Propaganda work has been focused on and promoted effectively; Activities to care for and support workers have been carried out regularly and continuously; Union member development work has greatly exceeded expenditures...

In the coming time, trade unions at all levels need to continue to thoroughly grasp the spirit of creativity and innovation to adapt and cope with the epidemic situation, be more proactive in clarifying the role of trade union organizations in preventing and fighting Covid-19, focus more on in-depth activities, promote representation for workers...

In the last 6 months of the year, Nghe An Trade Union identified a number of key tasks such as: Continuing to focus on implementing the 2021 working theme "Improving the quality of grassroots trade union cadres"; Directing trade unions at all levels to implement the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels; action programs to implement the Resolutions of the 19th Provincial Party Congress and the 13th National Party Congress;

Coordinate with all levels and sectors to direct trade unions at all levels to carry out Covid-19 prevention and control work among workers and production units, especially in industrial parks.

Implement well the grassroots democracy regulations, improve the quantity and quality of collective labor agreements at enterprises, especially in negotiating contents related to wages and quality of mid-shift meals; Strengthen coordination in participating in inspection, examination and supervision of labor laws, trade unions, social insurance, occupational safety and health, etc.

Coordinate with relevant agencies to resolve the benefits for employees at units that still owe salaries and social insurance for a long time; Complete and exceed the targets according to Decision No. 2270/QD-TLĐ, dated March 18, 2021 on assigning targets for performing tasks in 2021...

In addition to the key tasks for the last 6 months of the year, the conference also made a number of recommendations and proposals to the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in the coming time.

On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor also awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag to 9 Trade Unions for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for good workers, building a strong trade union organization and awarded Certificates of Merit to 9 collectives with Excellent achievements in "Workers' Month 2021".
