Cong Vinh, Trong Hoang, Quang Hai named in Southeast Asia's best squad
(Baonghean.vn) - The list of the best Southeast Asian team of the decade voted by Live Sport Asia includes 3 Vietnamese players: Cong Vinh, Trong Hoang and Quang Hai. This is a shared honor for Vietnamese and Nghe An football.
Live Sport Asia chose the best Southeast Asian team of the decade according to the 3-4-3 formation. Thai and Vietnamese football both had 3 names chosen, on the Vietnamese side were Cong Vinh, Trong Hoang and Quang Hai, while the Golden Temple country had Theerathon Bunmathan, Chanathip Songkrasin, Teerasil Dangda, of which only Cong Vinh has retired.
Vietnam, Thailand emerge
Philippine football has goalkeeper Neil Etheridge who plays for Cardiff City in the Premier League. Singapore has centre-back Hariss Harun who plays for Johor DT and is the captain of the national team. Theerathon Bunmathan, 30, currently plays left-back for Yokohama F. Marinos and the Thai national team.
J1 League champions Yokohama F Marinos have agreed to buy left-back Theerathon Bunmathan from Muangthong United for 35 million baht ($1.2 million). As a versatile player, Trong Hoang is positioned as a right-sided centre-back in a three-man defence by Live Sport Asia.
25-year-old Evan Dimas (Indonesia), who was injured in a collision with Van Hau at the 30th SEA Games, was chosen by Live Sport Asia to be the central midfielder. Safiq Rahim (Malaysia), 32, who plays central midfielder for Melaka United, was chosen to pair up with Evan Dimas in central midfield.

Last season, Chanathip Songkrasin continued to show his impressive form when he played a total of 25 matches and scored 4 goals. He contributed greatly to bringing Consadole to the final of the Japan League Cup but unfortunately lost to Kawasaki Frontale.
The three strikers are Teerasil Dangda (Thailand), Shahril Ishak (Singapore), and Le Cong Vinh (Vietnam). The 32-year-old star Teerasil Dangda is playing as a striker for Muangthong United Club in the Thai League. The 36-year-old veteran Shahril Ishak is currently playing for Home United in the S. League.
Two stars from Nghe An
Talking about the reason for choosing the two Nghe An players, Live Sport Asia wrote: "Emerging since 2010, Nguyen Trong Hoang is one of the most durable players in Vietnam in the past 10 years. He is a player with good physique and fitness and can play in many positions. Trong Hoang is a player who has made great contributions to the 2018 AFF Cup championship and the gold medal at the 30th SEA Games of Vietnamese football."

“Not only that, Cong Vinh has played in the J-League for Consadole Sapporo or in Portugal for Leixioès SC. With 51 goals in 85 appearances, Le Cong Vinh deserves to be considered a legend of Vietnam."
