Provincial People's Council delegates meet voters in localities

(Baonghean.vn) - On June 13, implementing the program of meeting voters before the 9th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Council delegates met voters in Thai Hoa town, Cua Lo town and Yen Thanh and Quy Chau districts.

The provincial People's Council delegates reported to the majority of voters on the socio-economic, national defense and security situation in the province in the first 5 months of the year; key tasks in the coming time and the expected program and content of the 9th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council, term 2016-2021.

* In Thai Hoa town,Provincial People's Council delegates including: Colonel Tran Van Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa - Director of the State Treasury of Vietnam, Nghe An province; Mr. Vo Duy Viet - Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Thuy - Chairwoman of the Thai Hoa Town Labor Federation met with voters of Nghia Hoa and Nghia Tien communes.

In addition to expressing excitement about the province's development in recent times, many voters also reflected and proposed problems and concerns that are arising. Voters of Nghia Hoa commune had 19 opinions reflecting the massive sand and gravel mining taking place in the area, causing disruption to the lives and activities of local people; the degradation of some new rural criteria; the slow progress of granting agricultural land use right certificates in some hamlets in the area; the ineffectiveness of the Mong village irrigation pumping station, causing waste, etc.

Voters in Nghia Tien commune had 17 opinions on the following issues: the need to upgrade the power grid system in the area because some areas have degraded and unsafe power lines, weak electricity affecting daily life, especially the area near the Northwest Nghe An Regional General Hospital; the issue of merging hamlets; the issue of the 364 boundary between Nghia Tien and Tay Hieu that has existed for many years...

* In Cua Lo town,Provincial People's Council delegate, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Secretary of the Town Party Committee, and delegates of the Town People's Council met with voters of Nghi Hai ward before the Provincial People's Council session and the 11th session of the Town People's Council.

At the meeting, voters of Nghi Hai ward raised questions and recommendations such as: the reason for not granting land use rights to 87 households; Nghi Huong oil depot causes environmental pollution and affects people's lives; there are still multi-level marketing businesses that cheat people to sell poor quality products; drainage ditches along Lam River and in Tan Loc block, some sections still cause flooding during the rainy season...

Opinions are also concerned about the issue of power supply during the hot season; the contract with the environmental company still violates the environmental protection project; the Cua Lo water supply company does not provide enough water for people to use and the water source is still dirty; the need to expand the roads parallel to Binh Minh Street to the golf course...

* In Yen Thanh district,Provincial and district People's Council delegates met with voters of Tan Thanh commune.

Voters have sent 10 opinions and recommendations to the Provincial and District People's Councils regarding traffic, land, natural resources, environment, and treatment for meritorious people... Voters hope to soon repair the road from the District Hospital to Tan Thanh, regularly inspect and have solutions and strong sanctions to handle pig farms that pollute the environment; need to strengthen the handling of drugs, firecrackers, and air guns; rectify petty corruption in district and provincial hospitals...

Opinions are also concerned about the risk of pollution when the waste discharge system of Muong Thanh eco-tourism area, in Dien Lam commune (Dien Chau) flows into Ma To dam, affecting the lives of people in the downstream area.

* In Quy Chau district,Provincial People's Council delegates including Ms. Luc Thi Lien - Deputy Head of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council and Mr. Lang Van Chien - Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quy Chau district met with voters of the three communes of Chau Phong, Chau Hoan and Dien Lam.

At the meeting, voters proposed a number of contents: proposing to allocate land near residential areas to people lacking production land and some households that do not have enough land for production; paying attention to early investment in national grid electricity for villages without electricity to serve people's lives, stabilizing local economic development; in reality, poor households still rely on and depend on the State's policies; suspension bridges in the villages of Nat Tren, Nat Duoi, Na Ngom, Chau Hoan commune have degraded, hoping that all levels pay attention to investing in building spillways to ensure safety;...

In addition, voters also expressed their desire to maintain and repair traffic routes; Farmers' Associations should participate in building collective economic models and cooperatives, especially in the fields of production, processing and consumption to contribute to restructuring agricultural production and renewing growth models...

The arrangement of regular police officers to work as commune chiefs is still inadequate when it is not possible to arrange jobs to replace the incumbent commune police officers; Difficulties in merging hamlets and villages because the villages in Chau Phong, Chau Hoan, and Dien Lam communes are far away and sparsely populated; Drug abuse is increasing; Parents working far away, not caring about or managing their children during the summer... are also issues mentioned at the meeting.

Based on the opinions and suggestions of voters, the provincial People's Council delegates requested the local Party Committee and authorities to review and have a specific roadmap to resolve issues within their scope, authority and responsibility, focusing on removing difficulties in production as well as people's lives. For issues that cannot be resolved immediately, the provincial People's Council delegates received and fully sent them to competent levels and sectors.
