Vinh - Thanh Major Seminary organizes Retreat Week 2019

From March 25 to 31, Vinh Thanh Major Seminary, Nghi Dien Commune, Nghi Loc District organized the 2019 Spiritual Retreat (a form of reflection and self-discipline to pursue holiness worthy of one's calling and duty) with the theme "On the call to holiness in today's world" according to the Apostolic Exhortation Gaudete et Exsultate of Pope Francis; under the guidance of Bishop Cosma Hoang Van Dat, Bishop of Bac Ninh Diocese.

Attending were Bishop Peter Nguyen Van Vien, Auxiliary Bishop of Vinh Diocese, priests, and seminarians of Vinh - Thanh Major Seminary.

The Retreat process, based on the “Ten Commandments of Seminarians”: 1 goal (to become a shepherd as God desires); 2 stages (disciple and conforming to God), 3 advices (obedience, chastity and poverty) and 4 dimensions (humanity, knowledge, spirituality, pastoral service). Bishop Cosma Hoang Van Dat, who lectured in the seminary, reminded the seminarians of the mission of serving God in order to become more perfect themselves…

The 2019 Retreat Week of Vinh - Thanh Major Seminary with the Mass to confer the ministries of Lector and Altar Server to 41 seminarians of the 14th course; presided over by Bishop Peter Nguyen Van Vien. Through the liturgical rites, Bishop Peter Nguyen Van Vien invited the seminarians who had just received the ministries to consider this a special mark in their lives, and at the same time to actively devote themselves to service.
